Has Alabama ever had a black QB? I'm guessing they have

Andrew Zow is the only one I know. A former student at Bama told me he was treated kind of badly, but Zow was a super nice guy and didn't let it get to him.

This is 100% a racial issue. No way the "old money" boosters at Alabama would allow an African American to be their starting QB.

Yeah. This is 100% truth. Oh...Terry Davis, Danny Woodson, and Andrew Zow say "hello."

at the Russell Athletic jersey. I thought it was sad when the University of Alabama dropped them for Nike and took away jobs from people in their state. Auburn did the same thing several years later, but Russell was about to tank.

I'll assume he didn't watch the 2011 spring game or the first couple of games last year where PS & AJ split snaps. Anybody with a working brain could tell who the better qb was.

Obviously he didn't watch the two play in the first game. AJ won the job hands down.

And I was one that thought Sims would end up getting the nod.

I knew it was McCarron's job after the Kent State game. After his play against Penn State I think every Alabama fan accepted that McCarron was better than Sims.

Zow only got the job when the with the other guy got hurt...

Only QB of color that I remember that won the starting job to START the season as Alabama's qb was Walter Lewis in the early 80s... The PTB did not want that again...

It is why Winston went to FSU...

I've watched Sims and McCarron play and I do think that the race was pretty close. However, when it came down to it, McCarron seemed to be a little more settled than Sims. Sims seemed to get too nervous. This is just my opinion and I know it really doesn't matter or I would be getting paid for it . I do think that if Sims could have settled down more then he would have gotten the nod.

With that being said, I know that the coach has his opinions too, but I don't see him getting paid millions of dollars to coach and run a major collegiate team, and I sure don't see him winning 2 national championships in the past 3 years. I don't agree with his opinion, but he is entitled to it.
