I'm surprised by the lack of TT9 in VOLS threads lately. What the frick happened to him?

He has made a healthy turn in his life, some might even say he is now pulling for VOLS

Seems like a lateral move at best. Seems odd.

Lateral move, my butt.

Tenn is hands down a better and more prestigious job than State.

If tennessee offers dan mullen the ut job and gives him a million dollars more a season (it really shouldn't even take that if you honestly compare the two jobs), it doesn't matter how much he says he "loves" starkville ms, he's gone. It would be a good career move for him. What can he legitimately accomplish at state? Seriously now, tenner is a much better job with more resources across the board than state has to offer and will ever be able to offer him. Get real.

So, Mullen is the hot name, the guy whose team got blown out by Kirby Smart? OK. Have fun.

I actually am as confused about it as anyone. We have went from getting dog cussed on ESPN because Byrne fired Croom and they all said MSU will never do better. Croom was never considered for any other head coach gig. Now Mullen is leaving in 2010.....no 2014! Mullen is great! Orange bowl for MSU! Mullen sucks! He lost to GA Tech! 2017 is the year he is hired away! Wait.. Mullen sucks! He lost to south Alabama! remember? Mullen is great again! He destroyed LSU!! Mullen sucks! he got throttled by Smart! Mullen is great again this week!

It's like everyone goes totally bi-polar when discussing Dan Mullen.

You have to take into consideration that mullen coaches at miss state for God's sake. Being as successful as he has been at state really is a good job on his part. You're talking about the worst program in the sec west and one of the worst jobs in the conference historically, in the bottom 4 programs in the conference for sure.

He is certainly a nice addition to this platform when he is in a good state of mind and not playing tummy sticks with cajunbama

One of the most profitable athletic departments in the nation wouldn't be able to pay?

L O MOTHERfrickIN L

Where do you come up with this shite?

I don't think he'd leave for money. You're not offering him more than MSU could/would match.

Would he leave for a better opportunity? Maybe.

What exactly has miss state done the other times that ole miss got put on probation by the ncaa? Not a damn thing. Nothing will change at state. Keep dreaming. Even with the "gigantic recruiting boost" mullen will supposedly have at state, they still won't be able to recruit with the big 6 programs...just ain't gonna happen, sorry.

I'd take Mullen in a heartbeat. For those of you bashing him for losing to top ranked teams and Georgia this past weekend, you need to take a step back and realize that MSST is not a recruiting hot bed or majorly appealing location. Sorry, but it isn't. Fact is, however, he has gotten them to the #1 spot and has achieved more there than any coach in MSST history, except maybe Allen McKeen?

Why would he leave a program that currently is in better shape than TN, likely take a pay cut (he makes 4.8 mil at state) and go somewhere where demands are high and he could be on the hot seat if he doesn't win 10 games by year 2-3, while currently at state his seat is cold as Eskimo pussy?

Not to mention he has a decent team this year and returns 18 starters next year.

He ain't leaving this year. After next year if he does really well he might.
