You guys are haters. Gruden would be a homerun hire and instantly give UT credibility. Have you watched his qb workout specials? Those kids love him, he has passion, he would have those boys ready to run through a brick wall for him.

I'd take him all day everyday over Muschamp. If he is really making 6.5 million to call NFL games then it will be a hard sell unless he wants a challenge.

Like 3 time Super Bowl winner Bill Walsh when he coached at Stanford?

He was ancient and Stanford is Stanford.

From what I've read the only college he'd consider would be Notre Dame. Evidently he grew up in South Bend, Indiana.

Maybe it's time for Kelly to follow Butch. The other Kelly.

I just googled it. Gruden's Dad was an assistant to Dan Devine at Notre Dame when Gruden was a kid. Not sure if that was assistant coach or assistant in some other capacity. Anyway, I didn't know that, but it kind of explains the connection with Notre Dame.

I'm rooting for this.

Would keep UT at the bottom of the east for a while.

Please don't hire someone like Scott Frost or Chris Peterson. That would suck.

I'm on board the Gruden to UT train!!

By the ratings, the fact that it was removed from ABC and put on ESPN, probably not.

For Gruden being such a QB guru I can't think of a QB who was better after being coached by Gruden.

Gruden doesn't have the drive or willingness to keep up with the demands of recruiting. I don't know why Tennessee fans would want him.

Brad Johnson had the best year of his career in Gruden's first year in TB.

Gruden also resurrected career journeyman Rich Gannon's career as soon as he got to Oakland.
