It probably wouldn't have mattered. Our pass rush in the second half was on another level. They put Watson back in and he crumbled.

I agree. But by the time they brought him back in they were out of their game plan and had to drop back and pass every play. Which set Jenkins, Floyd and Co. up nicely.

Yep. I still don't know why Urban recruited him though because he was pro style and we already had Cam Newton in that class.

I think Coaches just like stockpiling as much QB talent as they can. And really, there haven't been too many sure-fire can't miss QB recruits although there have been plenty that we all thought would be sure-fire so maybe that's why they've hedged their bets. A position like RB is much easier to project from HS to college.

Good, I've been looking forward to the __ayson generation to finally have a shot in cfb.

We didn't have a very effective offensive gameplan.

When Chubb went down and Sony had to take over that role full time, we lost a lot of the dynamic stuff UGA could do offensively. Namely, that Sony was also our second best WR.

Fair enough.

When you have the RB corps that UGA's had the past several years it's hard not to get over-reliant on the run and RBs but it seems like y'all have had an overly one-dimensional offense for a few years now (I'm thinking right around the time Bobo left). How much of that has been on WR development? I know losing Murray hurt but even as a game manager type QB Lambert could produce more splash plays with more WRs and plays called downfield.

More recruiting related. Tony Ball didn't get anyone. We have Terry Godwin but not a ton of highly recruited guys other than that.

We have great TEs but didn't use them last year because that would have made too much sense.

I see Tech beating UGA this year no matter who the QB is.

This reminds me of Dabo Swinney playing Cole Stoudt over Deshaun Watson. It was painfully obvious which quarterback needed to be taking the snaps, but he sided with "experience" that led to seven straight 3 & outs and a 45-21 arse-whooping against Georgia

even losing Chubb wasn't a problem as Sony filled in and had a huge day.

Eh. It was a good day. Not up to Chubb though.

I think it would have been a totally different game heading into the 4th.

That happened after Murray left. It worked in 2014 with Gurley, Chubb, and a great offensive line, but it didn't work last year with a shite offensive line, no Chubb, and running Michel up the gut when he would best be utilized in a Reggie Bush role.

Don't know if Watson would have won the game for Clemson had he started and played the whole game, because we scored a ton of points

The problem was the defense wore down because three and out Stoudt couldn't move the ball. It all ties together.

And Lambert and Cole Stoudt are essentially the same guy. Good luck Georgia

Nothing in my post was about eason in college. I was responding to the person who thought it was crazy to say eason has "championship potential".

Sorry, I must've completely misread you then. I definitely think the potential is there physically.
.

This becomes apparent when you see him actually play. Kid has an absolute cannon when he needs it, but has great touch as well. Reminds me of Aaron Rodgers a little.

Good because a lot of Bama fans are having their own melt down about not starting our own true freshman.
