Pay him no mind. He's a card carrying member of NAMBLA, and I'm not talking about the North American Marlon Brando look-alikes.

Douglas was the reason we had that 8 1/2 minute drive to kill USCjr in Athens in 2013. Dude is a workhorse, but I agree that he's not the final solution in RBs not named Chubb equation.

Even Stafford didn't start his first game as a tFR.

That's because y'all had the legendary Joe Tereshinski III.

UGA would have beaten TN from behind on the road without Chubb with a perfectly thrown deep ball from Lambert that was dropped by Reggie davis in the endzone.

I realize history gets rewritten but this is a doozy that I've heard repeated a lot. UGA couldn't have won with that play. They'd only have tied the game. Otherwise, you're correct that Lambert was not a problem that game even losing Chubb wasn't a problem as Sony filled in and had a huge day.

And yes, UGA does need some WRs/TEs to step up for whoever is QB. That said, Lambert had his meh days too but I don't think they or he are nearly as bad as they were made out to be.

This is dumb. The key to our offense last year was that Chubb and Sony needed to both have a huge day every Saturday.

I wouldn't put too much into to that. It's a great award but Justin Worley was the National Gatorade Player of the Year too and absolutely killed it in HS. Eason is far more talented than Worley ever was but those accolades just don't mean much in terms of projecting college careers. And to be fair to Worley, I think had he been able to redshirt earlier (not when he got injured later - Dooley literally burnt his RS for no explicable reason and the action was so bizarre that everyone from announcers to fans were scratching their heads) he'd have been a far better QB his first year as a starter back when we had that all-NFL OL.

I think Eason has the physical tools without a doubt to be one of the best in CFB but we'll have to wait and see if he has the rest of what makes a great QB. It's one of the reasons I'm excited to see him play this year and watch his development while he's in college.

If you needed both to have a good day to succeed that's not a very effective offensive game plan. Y'all went 10-2 so obviously you didn't need them both to do that. Chubb is the better back but there's not the huge drop-off between them that existed their freshman years. Obviously, you would've been better with both but better and need are different things.

Nothing in my post was about eason in college. I was responding to the person who thought it was crazy to say eason has "championship potential".

Sorry, I must've completely misread you then. I definitely think the potential is there physically.

Yep. I still don't know why Urban recruited him though because he was pro style and we already had Cam Newton in that class.

I'm not a clemson fan so I don't know all the leadup/backstory behidn the situation, but I DO know that watching watson thread that TD inches from our LBs head was terrifying and I was giddy when they took him out.

Ha! I remember seeing that and thinking "HOLY CRAP - WE'RE DOOMED!"

Then it was back to Stoudt.

Don't know if Watson would have won the game for Clemson had he started and played the whole game, because we scored a ton of points, but I do remember being scared shiteless that Dabo was going to keep him in for the rest of the game.

But .... he didn't.

It probably wouldn't have mattered. Our pass rush in the second half was on another level. They put Watson back in and he crumbled.

We didn't have a very effective offensive gameplan.

When Chubb went down and Sony had to take over that role full time, we lost a lot of the dynamic stuff UGA could do offensively. Namely, that Sony was also our second best WR.
