nope. born and raised in central alabama. i just hate baseball. i think it's the sport that requires the least athletic ability of all the "major" sports. it's probably around #25 on my list of favorite sports.
How can you hate baseball, and say it requires the least athletic ability, yet you love softball? That's like saying you love putt-putt but the PGA is for amateurs.

How does Alabama's compare?

“We are extremely fortunate to have the top softball facility in the country. I have been to many places and this one tops them all. With the private suites, the shade for the fans, the stateof-the-art pressbox and player amenities, this is a mini-major league park.” -- Head Coach patrick Murphy

Maybe he's due to break through and win a few championships.

Sort of off topic, but pertaining to that graphic, I'm a bit shocked that gymnastics is that much in the red.
I figured it would be one of the only women's sports to turn a profit.
Man, Murphy is going to get quite the welcome when he travels to T-Town next season.

Throw money at that coach at UA-Huntsville.
Her sister is already an assistant coach for the bama softball team.

Good, now maybe you can provide the proof for this comment.

It was in the article in that very thread. Are you that obsessed? That thread is nearly a month old.

No shite. Softball got more thrown its way than baseball lately. And turns his back on the program just like that.
CapstoneGrad06...your statement has to be the most ironic statement ever made with the picture of your head coach at the bottom of your post. Many would argue that Saban is the king of turning his back on a program! Not once...but twice.

He had everything he could want at Alabama. I guess he can go choke at LSU now.
Obviously, he wanted something LSU had to offer that BAMA did not want to give....he was a great coach at Bama, ...so don't start the CHOKE trash talk about him just because he's leaving...

I haven't read this whole thread, but I'd imagine there aren't many rational thoughts in it.
Murphy deserves a standing ovation for building a powerhouse. I don't know why he decided to go to LSU, but I wish him the best of luck.
Hopefully we can hire someone who can get us over that final hump.

Perhaps...it took Skip multiple trips to Omaha before winning it all. And then boom.

Not surprised. Murphy couldn't get raises for his assistants, despite being a top-5 team year in and year out. He also raised the money for the facilities. He received little or no support from the administration or athletic dept. Still, hope they can hire a good coach. Id look at that pitching and/or hitting coach at Arizona State.

Like I posted in the other thread shortly after you "claimed" it was in the article you linked, there is NOTHING in that article that supports your statement of UAB being subsidized by the UA System, but then you were stupid enough to believe that UA was the states largest employer.
quote:
The Blazers lost $1.7 million on football in 2009-10, according to UAB's latest NCAA financial report, not counting subsidies from the university as revenue.
I'm sure you read my original reply to your BS claim about it being in the article, which is why I took the opportunity to ask again in this thread. Not obsessed, just wanting to see if your mouth/keyboard can cover your arse.

I'm not opposed to this idea at all. They have a damn good team. Hopefully Mal will make a good hire ~
