Are you serious, the baseball crowds have been that small in Tuscaloosa?

Baseball used to be the top ten nationally every year. They fell below 4,500 a game this year. I don't know if softball acutally cost them those numbers, but I do know that softball was getting money thrown into the program at what seems a lot faster rate.

Congratulations. Apparently you're in the majority around here. Sad to see how little emphasis the Athletic Dept. puts on baseball. It's only a matter of time before another helluva coach, Mitch Gaspard, leaves for greener pastures as a result.

I'll make that trade any day of the week. Murphy for Saban? Abso-fricking-lutely. Enjoy our old softball coach, we're sure enjoying your old football coach.

They've been ridiculously small. Season ticket holders were emailed and told to use or lose their tickets. I was a student and never had a problem walking over and sitting in a seat behind the plate all season. I think the attendance numbers are inflated too bc of season ticket holders.

Did not see this coming. Thought LSU would go after the Houston coach.

I'm not necessarily happy to see him go, but as a baseball fan it's been disheartening to see a full softball stadium while our overachieving baseball team plays to a crowd of 200.

Quit crying about the baseball team. If they start winning the crowds will come. I'm a woman and I like softball. Just because Murphy left, doesn't mean I'll go running to the Joe.

Murphy more or less Fran'ed us. I just hope he had the guts to tell his team.
