The PAC-12 better start recruiting defensive players if they even want to be mentioned behind the SEC and Big Ten

Even when you factor in Pacific Islanders, there aren't enough quality D-Linemen to make them top-to-bottom better than the SEC.

Even Mississippi State has two DTs that could play almost anywhere. They don't have that kind of depth at that position out west, and it's what separates the Southeast and the SEC from everyone else.

(I wasn't taking a shot at MSU, FWIW)

FWIW Mississippi State can recruit DTs like a MOFO.

We have commitments from a 5star (Quay Evans) and 4star (Nick James) who have offers from almost everybody in the SEC. We also have some other DTs who had multiple SEC offers out of HS.

Honestly, this year the SEC did not perform as well as in recent years, that said the pac-10 does not have near the schedule of the SEC...

The SEC is good because of the talent pool they draw from

Yeah, it showed that we lost to two teams that went unbeaten the whole year. The rest of the SEC couldn't beat them, nor could we.

So you would be like 4th best in SEC?

I don't think the poster was referring to the fact that LSU and Auburn beat Oregon; it was a reference to the way they were beaten. Oregon offense works in the Pac 12; it clearly does not work against SEC defenses, including one of the more marginal national championship defenses we've seen in the BCS era (Auburn 2010).

Interesting conclusion from my statement. Must be Alabama logic.

Losing on a last second field goal in the national championship game?

there is a reason why USC will be tops of the pac12 when the sanctions are over...because they will be the only ones that can pull big time talent AND play defense to some degree
