I can understand why you might be a little ticked off at ole Phil.

That's understandable.

I'm not sure what your point is about UTs 1998 season.

That 1998 was an anomaly for UTk because they won a National Championship, and that 1 NC is not worthy of Big 6 status. Seems like most agree.

Youre the one claiming all that bullshite in the first place. Dude was a general in the Army in WW1 and 2 and paused his coaching duties to serve his tours. He massively respected both as a military man and a Coach. So what he wasn't loaded down with combat awards, he wasn't in combat. He did his job.

Big 6 status is and always has been determined by Sec championships

You opened this whole thing up by saying he was a guy that didn't dedicate his life to coaching - meaning he dedicated his life to the military and coaching was his side thing - that is false. You got corrected on that and got sand in your pants and all upset. So you brought up his awards - further highlighting your ignorance. You got corrected and more sand got in your pants and you got more estrogenic about it all.

I'm not saying he wasn't respected or that his service shouldn't be respected. I'm saying his life history clearly shows a guy whose life revolved around athletics and coaching.

He's your hero not mine. When you want to pimp his record, you should have a thorough understanding of it beforehand. It's not rocket science.

Okay okay, the guy who went to West Point and then served his whole life in the military didn't give a shite about the military. Whatever you say hoss.

That 98 team beat 10 biwl teams and beat very strong UF, Arkansas and FSU teams.

98 Tennessee would beat the brakes off this years overrated Bama squad.

We certainly wouldn't have list an Ole Miss team that fell to Memphis.

Wrong on so many points. First of all coonhound breath in 1998 UF did NOT have a great team and it was rather pedestrian under Spurrier. Arkansas was NOT stellar either, we had QB issues and so did the girls school who had one QB blow eyeballs out his head in a freaky science accident... blow those assumptions out your azz where they came from.

Sooo am I to assume that you claim the 1998 UT squad would even beat this years Bama team? WTF have you been smoking or drinking or taken from your mommys medicine cabinet? You need to sleep it off. Next you will tell us all that Tee Martin was the best all time SEC QB. As Ive stated before, Martin couldnt hit water with a damn anchor.

Martin was far from bad and did play in the NFL.

98 UT team went undefeated and had more overall NFL talent than this Bama squad. Deal with it.

It's funny how losers always perpetrate myths to undermine the victors. Billy Ratliff pushed Brandon Burlsworth back, so that Burlsworth stepped on Stoerner's foot, causing him to stumble and steady himself on the ball - which he dropped. But it should have never come to that point. A minute before, the officials blew a call when the Arky punter kicked the ball out the back of the end zone from the 5. It should have been UT ball on the 5, but instead they called it a safety and Arky cleared the ball downfield.

That UT refused to lose to anyone. Our intangibles were off the charts.

Best SEC team ever IMO.

By didn't refuse to lose .. Do you mean qb slipping on banana peel and handing you guys a game? Just giving you a hard time .. You have to have some luck to win championships .. Didn't FSU have a 3rd stringer in as qb too .

I wouldn't call the 1998 NC an anomaly for Tennessee. Fulmer was in his 5th full year and had recruited very well with top 10 finishes from 2005 through 2007. Florida was one of the top 5 programs throughout that period as well, which happened to sit in the same division. Let me ask you a question. Do you call the 1992 Bama team an anomaly since it was the only NC from 1979 to 2009 for Bama?

MY point is The OP was designed to insult UT.
Your Best coach BEAR never beat their Best coach! Regardless of what school they were at.

Also Excluding Auburn- UT is your most difficult rival. Yea they've been down the past several years but they've beaten BAMA nearly 40 times and that's pitiful considering the great coaches ya'll had!
