Being 2nd or 3rd in the SEC in wins, bowl appearances, bowl wins, all Americans, sec titles, national championships and winning percentage. All this despite the shitty run we've had

It's an anomaly because it's the only semi legit NC they have. Tenner just doesn't win NCs. It has nothing to do with the swine literally handing them the ball and the game for an unearned win.

There's no "semi" about it. And 51 was 100% legit too. We would have another couple in the 30s if the poll didn't close early back then.

Lot of people forget that the east during those years was much better than the west. Vols went undefeated nuff said.

So the 98 anomaly was truly the only semi legit championship. 1951 is a complete fraud as GT won the SEC went undefeated, and won its bowl game where as Tenner lost to Maryland.
