His head coaching record is poo, he won't have a winning season while he's there
So based on that statement. Pete Carroll should have never been given a chance after NE. Bill Belichick after Cleveland. Saban after Miami. Why can't some of you get that Orgeron is not the same coach today that he was at Ole Miss.

Hmmm you don't really understand what you said in the first place if you are basing it on wins/losses.
LSU and UT are polar opposites in the way the programs operate. LSU doesn't have to go out of state to get recruits nearly as much as IT. That's just a start. So comparing won/loss records really has nothing to do with the point you originally made, which obviously went over your own head

To be fair, Carroll and Saban could carry a conversation with intelligible speech.
O will be fine for a while as long as he recruits like his resume states he will and delegates to quality coordinators/staff.
The good news is that he can do some crazy arse stuff, say some crazy as stuff and nobody will be too alarmed based on his predecessor.

Orgeron speaks the truth, whether people like it or not.
It beats listening to Miles talk about his daughter's softball game for half an hour then end his presser with "this team has the want to improve, I think you'll see that".
Outside of maybe Jimbo Fisher, Ed Orgeron was the best fit for LSU football.

Terrible hire
I wasn't happy about it when it went down. I would have been ecstatic with Herman or Fisher, but those didn't happen.
After those two you're in the second tier real quick.
Orgeron was the right call at the time. Made some important changes in the time he was given and kept the recruiting class together and will continue to recruit Louisiana very well.
We don't know if Aranda would have left if an outsider would have been hired but it's extremely significant that he stayed.

Orgeron won't last 2 seasons
Who knows. I hate the whole idea of a decent coach with elite surrounding coordinators because they'll always leave for better jobs. We really don't know how he'll do on his own two feet, but if Aranda and Canada move on after this season and he loses 5 games in 2018 he'll be on a very short leash. It would take a pretty drastic meltdown for him to be gone in 2 seasons though.

LSU is a dumpster fire
We've averaged around the 4th best recruiting classes over the past 7 years. Obviously second in the SEC and better than anyone not named Alabama, Ohio State, or Florida State. We have spectacular facilities, rabid fan support, the second largest venue in the SEC (6th - I think - in the country), a pipeline to the NFL, a unique and deep recruiting territory, and a great staff. So.. I feel like "dumpster fire" might be a little harsh.

Herman did absolutely nothing to deserve the LSU job. His resume screams "The Next Kevin Sumlin".
Zero influence in Louisiana, not much at all in Texas and lost to Navy & SMU last year.
No thanks, maybe he'll get Texas back to over .500 for the first time in 4 years.

That's ridiculous. In his coordinator positions at Iowa State and Ohio State, and his Head coaching gig at Houston he's played 14 games as an underdog and lost one. As an offensive coordinator at Iowa state. That's not really Sumlin esque. Sumlin has won maybe (MAYBE!!) 25 percent of his games as an underdog.

Zero influence in Louisiana
Winning changes your sphere of influence. There was a time when no one in Louisiana or Alabama knew who Saban was.

not much at all in Texas
Herman recruited the first 5 star athlete to a non power 5 school EVER in his first year. One that LSU and Texas were recruiting hard. and another former 5 star QB is transferring there.

I think he'll bring Texas back to national prominence pretty quickly. Hopefully Saban will be gone or dead by then because that will put some serious recruiting pressure on LSU.

Don't act like your whole fan base wasn't drooling at the chance to get him.
You're acting like the guy who gets dumped by his hot ex then pretends it was his idea.

Because having his older brother and old high school coach on the team had nothing to do with that, right?
Herman is a flash in the pan, just like Charlie was.
We saw how that worked out.

No. The current offensive and defensive coordinators for LSU never coached for Derek Dooley. You guys sure are placing a lot of hope in Canada.
