Expanding just to expand would be silly. Unless they can get some of the traditional powers in more than one sport I'm against it

12 --> 14 completed the SEC by adding the Western cornerstone Texas A&M to balance out Florida in the East.

Please tell me how unc would not benefit usc fans...rival and close game. In fact every fanbase not named bama aubie tenn or uga would not see a major shift from expansion

You dumb..

Im assuming you give Les Miles a pass for last season because of the strain of two extra teams in the conference... and next season as well

Bama, Aub, UGA, UT are the heart and soul of the conference. These teams historically made the SEC what it is today. If SEC added UNC, it definitely wouldnt be to accommodate USCe.

Yall are more than welcome to start scheduling them and create your own rivalry. You already do that with Clemson.

Someone mentioned that more money=more winning. Thats not true if everyone else in the conference is getting the same amount of money!

it does if we are talking vs other conferences. do you want to stay #1 or not?

I've always thought that expansion can reach a point where it's counter productive. The point of expansion is to get more money. More money leads to better resources which will ultimately lead to wins. However, if expansion means making your schedule tougher, then is there really a huge benefit?

For the big schools its one thing, but for the middle to lower tier schools (MSU, OM, etc,) I don't see the benefit. Their road to a championship just got tougher.

LSU beat and finished ahead of the only expansion team they played last year.

So you're in favor of playing teams only once every six years, but once every eight years would just be too much, huh?

Makes sense.

I don't really think a combo selected from UNC/NC St and VPI/UVA would really crush the chances of mid tier teams.

We were 1-0 vs. the new teams. Unless you count SC and Arkie, in which case we were 3-0.

I know.. it would suck to not be able to schedule North Texas, Washington, Idaho and Towson in the same season.

Would much rather trade Towson and Idaho OOC to have Tennessee and Mizzou in SEC.

A Gump poking at LSU's schedule? Priceless!

well your "heart and soul" can suck a d. There are 10 other teams in this conference and every one gets an equal share. Besides why do you even start threads like this? Do you know what a GOR is and what it means? expansion is done.

The problem is how they expand. If all we cared about what a fit in the SEC and not TV market it would be great to have a Texas or an OU or a FSU.

12 was enough for me, 14 is definitely enough for me. In fact I'm still kind of meh on the USC/Arkansas expansion.

It's good to know that the first reply to a bama fan's thread is still 100% sure to be a butthurt LSU fan whining about their status as bama's annual speedbump on the national title. Why don't you guys just enjoy being second best?
