SoCal and Hawaii, you might be on to something there.
You know, they don't have Waffle Houses, they don't have Krystals, they refer to soda by its real name, and they're not obese.
You may want to rethink based on cultural issues.

I misunderstood what you meant. I thought you were saying they don't cover A&M.

Today in their hard working redistricting special session, the Texas House convened for 10 minutes, announced they would hold some committee hearings later on, and then adjourned for two weeks. Don't strain yourselves there, boys.
Of course, that was 100% more work than the Senate put in, while Lt Governor Dewhurst is currently over vacationing in France. Err, I mean, honoring the armed forces members who fought at Normandy. While touring France with his wife.
Sounds about right. Bidness as usual.

it would be impossible for the gumps to schedule cupcakes every year.
I know.. it would suck to not be able to schedule North Texas, Washington, Idaho and Towson in the same season.

I know one person from Missouri, want to guess who is fat? Ever been to Tuscaloosa? No boots or belt buckles Yeehaw.
Posted on 6/3/13 at 8:26 pm to nc14
I'm just kidding dude. Lotsa fatties in Missouri.
Not nearly as much as in the other southern states, but there's plenty.

Maybe so, but that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the SEC still gets no coverage in Dallas. Adding Texas would guarantee it.

That solves the teabagging issue

Does that matter though? I mean all the Dallas TV sets will have the sec network because of us
Posted on 6/3/13 at 9:43 pm to WestCoastAg
We already got all the SEC games. Even Channel 21 had SEC games before you guys came over. I like reading the paper in the morning and don't get SEC stuff. I would have been against you guys coming over had I known. Please go back to the Big 12.
Just kidding about that last stuff. I do think the writers will come around eventually.

Expansion from 12 to 14 was silly and I was against it.
Expanding even larger is absurd.
There comes a point where you just water down your brand significantly.
The SEC is more than just a random assortment of schools, the tradition and the culture of the teams involved are important.
If people want to throw that away so the tv execs can make a few extra bucks that's flat out pathetic.

Shouldn't have expanded the first time in the early 90's.

I stand by the thread title. Someone asked how the people I listed would get the shaft:
1) Student athlete- winning conference championships becomes ridiculously hard. Road trips become ridiculously long. Kids pursuing serious degrees will really suffer.
2) Student body- its awesome seeing a team you support win championships when you are a student. Those championships are not going to come around often with a 16 team conference.
3) Fans- not many people can afford to travel halfway across the country for a road game. Fans also want to see championships come around more than once in a blue moon. Your team will likely be on tv LESS. Games fans love to see will be sacrificed for someone else to make money
4) Coaches- Who wants to coach in a 16 team league?? Too many good teams in one conference is not a good thing. The pressure from the fans to win is not going to subside because the conference got bigger. The conference will just get tougher and tougher to win
5) Tradition- Tradition drives collegiate sports. Traditions are what make collegiate sports so much different(and IMO better) than pro sports. Im sorry but I like seeing Bama play Tennessee every season. I like seeing Bama play Auburn every season. Heck I even like seeing Auburn play UGA every season. I stand by my title because I truly believe it. Why support someone wrecking what makes college sports so great just so OTHER ALREADY RICH PEOPLE CAN GET RICHER? YOU MORONS WHO ARE ALL GIDDY ABOUT EXPANSION WONT SEE ONE DIME.
The conference is called the Southeastern Conference. The fans in this conference once shared a bond. We hated each other on gameday but the rest of the time we were brothers. We were all southerners who had southern values, loved southern food, and enjoyed a southern brand of athletics.
Fans that talk about TV contracts and markets just like to listen to themselves talk and gawk about how smart they are. Someone mentioned that more money=more winning. Thats not true if everyone else in the conference is getting the same amount of money!
To the expansioners: why stop at 16? why not 18? or 20? or 30? Why not just go get USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State etc to join? Heck Notre Dame is closer to more SEC schools than Oklahoma.
12 to 14 was totally unnecessary. 14 to 16 would be even more so.
Whatever
