Jordan Jefferson started two games right? Yeah...that's certainly a proven starter.

I've been down this road with them, there's really no point.

Ole Miss wont beat LSU, ALA, AU. Will probably loose to UT and SC. 50/50 vs Vandy. Yes, there may be a suprise win in there, but they could just as easily loose to the hogs.
Part of the success they had this year was that no one took them seriously- they wont sneak up on anyone next year.

Not all of the 38 will qualify. I doubt it is just the bottom 10 that dont.

the consensus was Miss State had turned the corner- after 1 good (not great) year.

the consensus of who?

Even State fans believed Croom needed to have at least one more winning season before we turned anything.

Ole Miss to win the west is a trendy pick. I'm pretty sure it fails, but I assure you Ole Miss isn't the only group thinking the Rebels have a good team next year.

Now a National Championship...

The BAMA faithful didnt think they had turned the table after getting beat 2 years in a row?
I know 7-5 isnt contending for he title, but still tied w/ bama for 3rd in the west- much better than 3-8, and competing for last vs second last.
LINK

The point with the other schools listed is that none will win it all (although if any sec team went undefeated, they would be in the MNC hunt- except auburnt)

Apparently you never watch State's offense in '07.

That's one of the most overrated excuses in sports. We snuck up on one team this year, the Florida Gators. I assume you're saying we snuck up on LSU too this past season. 31-13 isn't sneaking up on, it's unloading the pimp hand. Now do I think we do the same to you this year? Nope, but you can't in good faith make that argument.

You say that like you know. Plus why won't we beat Alabama, Auburn, or LSU? Let me guess, because we're Ole Miss. Good rational. The Vandy loss this year was amazing. I've rarely seen a team that much better than another get beat, but six turnovers will do that to you. With what both teams have coming back, it's better than 50/50. SC is losing a lot of players and Tennessee has a lot of work to do with a first year head coach. You're underrating Ole Miss a lot and I don't see how any LSU fan could do that after watching the game this year. I guess it's better to think it a fluke than admit you got beat by a better team.

Sure we'll have some non-qualifiers, but I'm also betting it's not going to be the top 10 that don't qualify. Ole Miss had a solid class, better than any class O brought in. We're happy with what we have.

So Lee is going to be starting for LSU to start the year and for the entire season?

My point was pretty easy to understand, but if you want to jump through loops to prove it technically wrong that's cool.

Not trying to prove you wrong just saying even though Jefferson only started two games and Lee was pretty horrible in most games that both now have game experience and both did start last season. So all I am saying is yes we have two qbs that both started games coming back, so ole miss isn't the only team in the west with a starting qb coming back.

Maybe I should have said "proven" instead of starting.

I'll give you that point though, you guys do have the quarterbacks who started every game coming back.

I think the point is that we have a proven entity, not just someone who started. I didn't believe in Snead at the beginning of the year, but he settled down and played well. I don't believe any of the Heisman talk, but promoting your team is what fans do. I will concede that Jeff is going to be VERY good. I'm just hoping it takes him another year.

I can't even begin to estimate how much FAIL is present in this well articulated, precise post.

Then I agree with you 100%. ole miss is the only team in the west with a proven qb.

Yeah...I'm hoping for the same thing but I think I'm hoping in vain. He's a very talented player and having a year to play will help him along a great deal.
