2008 wasn't a team full of soft quitters. 2008 didn't go 3-9 and not win one sec game. 2009 wasn't "uber successful" as they went 8-5 (3-5 in sec). Calm down Son.

I'm talking about offensive systems. Holy cow you really are retarded.

We went from #104 to #16 in a year.

You'll see a similar jump to that this year.

I would add Vandy to that list.

Normally I'd agree- but with them breaking in a new QB- I think OM can outscore them if they have to. Plus, they lost some good SR's

I just went back and looked. This vaunted 2009 Auburn season resulted in 5 losses and the best win came against a shitty Ole Miss team. They ended the season unranked. I guess I don't really disagree that Malzahn can replicate that this year.

2008 - dead last in the SEC in total yards per game
2009 - #2 behind Tim Tebow led Florida

I agree. People forget that we haven't won in Auburn since 03 and that they upgraded their DL more than maybe anybody in the country. I've said since Gus got there that AU could be a dangerous team

I honestly think OM can knock off LSU this year. LSU has the potential to be kinda shitty.

I wouldnt count on that- your OL and RB's wont be nearly as good as 2009's was

And Ole Miss fans, you guys have a bright future, but I would just get prepared for a pretty brutal start to this years season.

If Freeze can string together another 2 top 10 classes and get a big time QB then watch out.

This year will not be your year is all I'm saying.

Unless we don't start brutal. If we go 2-0 vs Vandy and Texas Gus better go to Sam's Club for the jumbo lube

It all depends on two things really and they're both related: 1. Getting Bo healthy 2. Not turning the ball over so god damn much.

We do those two things we can make some noise.

I think we can make noise next year for sure... but I still think in 2014 or 2015 we will have the proper talent/depth ratio required to be more consistent (i.e. less toss-ups)

Agreed. Especially if we close halfway decent on the kids we are in on for Feb 2014. If we close perfectly or almost perfect as Keith Jackson would say Whoa Nelly

2014 is going to be a good year for State also. We are only going to start 6 Sr's in 2013, and will have a shite ton of 3 year starters in 2014.

I've said it numerous times... OM goes 7-5... We beat one team we shouldn't and lose one game we should probably win... Play well in our bowl game and avoid any 2012 Texas type blowouts and we'll bring in another top 12 class... Then OM fans can start talkin about getting over the hump and actually trying to compete for something special .

If you're going by solely star rankings, then 2013's offensive line will have a lot more talent than the 2009 offensive line did.

We really are loaded with talent on the offensive line. Probably as much or more than any team in the SEC. The problem is they've all just been really young going up against much older, stronger guys.

For runningback... who knows. Mason is a good one and so was tate.

I'm going by production- I saw what that 2009 OL did. Your 2013 OL wont match that

I'll spot Auburn 14 pts against Ole Miss next year. Ole Miss will destroy Auburn. By at least three TDs. At least.
