I just went back and looked. This vaunted 2009 Auburn season resulted in 5 losses and the best win came against a shitty Ole Miss team. They ended the season unranked. I guess I don't really disagree that Malzahn can replicate that this year.

You realize you didn't win an SEC game last year, right?

Shitty is quite an overstatement. That year we won 9 games including beating #10 LSU and a Cotton Bowl. We weren't a great team by any stretch of the imagination, but shitty? C'mon man

Have we already forgotten the lessons of September 4, 2010?

If we beat Texas we will definitely beat Vandy.

This is Vandy we're talking about. They have our number. We could go 11-1, and I wouldn't be surprised if our one loss was to Vandy.

LSU is really going to suck compared to what they're used to.

O RLY?

Bama and TAMU lost more starters, our offense will be WAYYY better since we bring most people back and have Cam, and our defense reloads every year to be at the very least solid as frick.

Love the hate this team is getting this year

Its not like we recruit incredibly well every year or anything

I really don't even know why people are so worried about Vandy. Freeze will be preparing for them with plenty of time and that alone makes me comfortable. A&M is the only game I'm truly nervous about. That will be the deciding game for being second or third in the west.

Well they've beat us 5 out of the past 6 times, and we always tend to shite the bed early on in the season, and Vandy is first up. You would be a fool to underestimate Vandy with our recent record against them.

I don't think anyone is. Most informed fans realize how big of a game Vandy is for this team.

Anyway.... Different team different coach. Next

This.

I will never predict us beating Vandy until proven otherwise... even in our more talented years we found ways to lose to them.

So if you lost to a Toledo team with Lance Moore or a UNI team with Michael Turner, those would be ok? Come on, you are an SEC program. YOU DON'T frickING LOSE TO CUSA TEAMS. If you do lose to them, you don't make an excuse, you come back and beat their brains in. Come on, fellas.

I see the 2013 Auburn/Ole Miss game playing out like the 2009 game. In 09, Ole Miss was coming off a 9 win season and a lot of preseason hype... AU was coming off a losing season with a new coaching staff and offense. We'd been handled in oxford pretty easily the previous season as well.

We ended up winning the 2009 game easily.
