Dude, the systematic way Alabama boosters cheat and the way the REC is set up is the bible for covering tracks and funneling players to the school. They have moved way past "bag man" tactics that are easy to track and conspicuous (sorry Ole Miss), by getting to the real influencers at the high schools and extended family, and camps and getting into the decision making process long before a player emerges as a recruit then they cover tracks at the SEC office and the NCAA. Hence becoming the AIG of college football...too big to fail. If they bust Bama at this juncture, it would affect revenue at a massive scale and there's simply too much money at stake in 2016. It's impressive and it works, clearly, but let's call it what it is. A systematic way to game the system. When the flames start getting hot, find a red herring (OM this time) to distract others off the scent and maintain a plausible story of enforcement by the NCAA.
OM didn't do anything Bama hasn't done, they just don't have the machine to cover their tracks and Freeze and the boosters don't know how to play the game, plus OM doesn't have the equity Bama does in terms of a national brand.

The Bama comparison may or may not be true, I don't know. But I do know that Ole Miss needed to slow things down a bit. What they did was tRant equivalent of throwing out such an obvious troll that you only get fishing pics back....I'm a big fan of hot womens in bikinis holding fish fwiw. A little subtlety would've gone a long way.

I have explained this many times before but since you are an OM fan and obviously a little slow, I will do it again. There was a time I actually halfway liked OM. I would pull for them to win when they played anyone but LSU or State and it didn't really matter which one won that game to me as long as it was a good game. My problem with OM isn't the school itself, it's the delusional fan base. It's fans like you who think that OM is all of a sudden an "elite" football program on the same level as Bama, LSU, Florida, etc.. Yet, you don't have any hardware to prove you are an "elite" program. Do you now have a good team? Yes, absolutely. The past 3 years you guys have had a really good team, but just because you have beaten LSU and Bama a few times with those good teams you've had, doesn't automatically place you to their level. First, you guys are going to have to get that 10 win season. The fact that that has eluded you even with good teams you recently have had is proof that you are not an "elite" program. Second, you are going to have to win the west. Third, you got to win the SEC. Fourth, you have to win a national championship. OM has failed to do any of this with the best teams they have ever had. You lost to Memphis.
Stop being so undeservingly arrogant about your team. It's pathetic and nobody is buying it. Be proud of your team, but be a bit more realistic.
And for the love of God, just freaking admit that you cheated your asses off and that this NCAA shite ain't going to end very well for you. God damn this sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling "we are gonna be fine, lalala. Nothing to see here, lalala. Slap on the wrist at most, lalala" shite is getting old. It looks bad and you know it. You may get lucky and the NCAA may be completely nutless at this point, but it ain't likely.

They jumped in too quickly. You gotta get into the pool a little slower, figure out who the influencers are, who you can trust at a high level, and at the extended family level and work those contacts. Find out where their bread is buttered, what they are willing to do in exchange for a payoff which isn't always money. Getting families out of debt, paying off tax bills, getting someone a job, getting them a "house-sitting" gig as a place to stay...those are the kind of things that the REC has mastered as the template for successful "process". The recruit is often the least influential person in the process. (See Brent Calloway, Cyrus and Ari Kouandjio, Josh Chapman, Trent Richardson, et.al). OM went straight for the "payoff" which paid dividends in the short term but is far more risky long term because of the exposure it creates.

If you know exactly how to game the system, why the heck aren't you doing it?
Why isn't your school doing it?
Too Podunk to pull it off?
Not relevant enough?
Is the tin foil hat hotter in the summer? Could we pop some popcorn under it?

Anyone with ties to the REC knows how it's done. It's the network of complicity that's tough to pull off... hence the reason why we and most other schools, can't do it without getting busted. Ole Miss is finding that out the hard way.

Thank you sir. I wonder what would happen to someone if they stood up and said, "Come on guys, Auburn isn't that bad" at one of their meetings.
