was Ole Miss that relevant in sports to warrant all the threads about their gross misconduct

Of course not. Sports aren't fueling this, but the American novel is.

I would ask you to elaborate, but I'm not interested in a Never To Yield link on a Friday.

The force multiplier is the state of Mississippi politics. More particularly, the Religious Freedom Act that was signed into law this spring.

Ole Miss has zero cover in this...they are exposed and the NCAA realizes that there will be relatively no negative blow back nationally for burning them down.

I don't expect anyone to believe me, but the hammer is coming.

2 yr postseason ban and double the 11 scholarships they self imposed.

What's kind of sad and funny is Ole Miss just decided to go all the frick out to become relevant and the best they could do is 10-3 with a Sugar Bowl win.

Also, how dumb could they possibly be to think they wouldn't get caught? All of a sudden Ole Miss started pulling big time kids to go to Oxford and play in front of 45K? Yeah, no one would question that AT ALLLLLLLLL.

If they receive a two year post season ban, the NCAA will allow players to transfer without having to sit out. You should expect a mass exodus from the program is that is the case of their top end talent.

we don't believe that you have any inside info other than an educated (or maybe not) guess. doesn't mean you will be wrong.

I don't think anyone who isn't an OM fan would be shocked by this.

Since bowl revenue is shared in the SEC, is there a case for the other universities to sue Mississippi for loss of revenue?

...Assuming the bears finish above .500.

Ole Miss would've been fine if it would've been anyone other than a staff member setting up the payments. They could've just claimed no one knew about it. Having coaches coordinate with the money guys is baaaaaaaaaaad.

The NCAA has teeth, they just don't always use them. It's lucky that most auburn fans have no teeth, otherwise we'd be really nervous when we make you blow us.

Yeah. Because the NCAA has never put Bama on probation for anything (even as recently as 2007).

You, an AU fan, of all people, should not talk about NCAA letting someone skate without punishment. They had to change the rules after Cam "didn't know his dad was shopping him" to eliminate that excuse in the future.
