Coach Justice at Madison Central in the late 90s/ early 2000s had a quote that went something like, "This isn't 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, or even MRA, this is 5A football"

You messed a great quote up. It was "This a'int 1A, This a'int 4A, and it sure as hell a'int MRA."

MRA is the Oregon of Mississippi Private School Football. Scores 50+ a game unless they place Prep or JA, and has weird helmet changes every year.

Justice was not a great person but he was a man who could coach and produce quotes.

I'm guessing they're playing the state championship game again. What's that, 12 years in a row JA and Prep have played for it?

The last non-Jackson area school to win the state championship at the highest level of private school was Pillow in '99

MRA had a 21-17 lead on Prep last week with 1:00 to go. In typical fashion, Prep scored to set up yet another Prep/JA championship game.

Outside of an MRA hiccup 5-6 years ago, those two have played every year for it seems like 40.

I for one was hoping the MHSAA kicked the parochials out. Having St. Stanislaus and St. Joseph in the MAIS might shake things up a bit. But not St. Andrew's. They are awful.

So he was actually playing out of position that fateful day in Oxford. It all makes sense.

He was really good at quarterback. He also kicked the ball through the uprights every kickoff.
