If I was a billionaire, id buy a piece of land right beside the Bama campus and make a park with all 4 removed statues from New Orleans, just to piss off SJWs

I'm sure African-American football players love to hear that song.

99% of them wouldn't know what it was until some self loathing whitey told them they should be offended by it.

LSU grad and fan, born, raised, and live in MS. I absolutely hated to see Ole Miss stop playing this. They keep giving in. That song gave me chills.

What are they doing with the statues? And the ones in Virginia if you know?

I was figuring the SJW's would blow them up like the Taliban blowing up those statues in Afghanistan.

Come to think of it they have to have their eyes on Stone Mountain.

Look, I'm quite sure Crimson Legend and myself would find a WHOLE lot to disagree on.

But I think he is sincere, not cynical. If you have his beliefs, then I don't think he is "striking the pose." Particularly since he is posting on a board where the majority of people disagree with him.

Man I could write page upon page about what I imagine his position on things are, and what is an incorrect assumption. Whether he would believe any of it, I dunno.

Personally I think democracy in the US is doomed. At least the version of it we've known. Maybe we keep Free Speech (though his Antifa buddies don't like it). Probably not. Harder (not impossible) to keep a lid on the Favelas in Brazil Norte with that flying around.

But smoke 'em while you got 'em. Meaning he ought to have a chance to have his say.

Not Sure: "All I'm saying is maybe we don't need to get rid of the Statues."

Hoe Woman: "But they're statues of ... Confederates."

Bling Man: "Confederate Statues."

Not Sure: "But who are they statues of?"

Dumb Kid: "They are statues of Confederates."

Not Sure: "I mean do the Statues have names."

Bling Man: "Statues have names? You mean like people?"

Hoe Woman: "Because Statues. Have Confederates."

I don't know him, and yes he has his chance to have his say....and so do I!

To play the race card, and call someone a racist because they have a different opinion is at the very least intellectually lazy.
It's also cowardley because libs have learned that any hint of this will invariably stop the opposing view from speaking.
Therefore there is no freedom of speech.

One more thing ....I don't know the details of what Ole Miss did and didn't do.

But you can't blame the people of New Orleans for the historical statues coming down....

I am waiting for Ole Miss to one day get into trouble because their colors are too much of a reminder of the old Confederate colors and are forced to change school colors.

Supposedly, that's why you don't see the all gray unis anymore in football. Looked too much like a confederate uniform.

Here is the problem. We went all in on confederate symbolism in the early years. Many of you talk out of both sides of your mouths saying you love it and at the same time condemn us calling OM a racist school. Also your athletic programs negatively recruit against us using these very symbols. Tuberville was very much for ridding the school of these symbols for this very reason.

We were the first in the state and I'm not sure but maybe even in the SEC to integrate and it caused a riot, with many converging on the school from the region (with no ties to OM) to cause trouble because we were the first to do it. This attraction of nut jobs, bad PR and negative recruiting from these symbols made it a must to rid ourselves of these symbols.

They were Confederate grays, a tribute to the Ole Miss students that fought for the Confederacy.
