Anyway, so you go from admitting blacks to Ole Miss to the song in question being banned. Looking at youtube it was banned in 2009? Maybe at the same time the mascot was changed from Colonel Reb? (really not sure of the timetable)
Tell me why it took from 1962 to 2009 to become an issue?
You might say it took ... 47 years for whoever to become confident or some shite enough to undertake it? Enough SJW's to infiltrate into positions of power at - Ole Miss?
Now I'm quite positive if you polled a random black person on the street in Mississippi about the matter between 1962 and 2009, you would get a black power salute in 1968 (maybe, not sure how much current events had percolated there by then) to a "Huh?" in the disco era.
Actually I'd say the genesis and moving force behind the whole thing were SJW's.
Now the question I have, is why should they get anything they want? Ever?

One thing that really bugs me about this whole recent thing with SJW's (sorry if it is repetive, but have no better name for them).
We know you hate Confederate anything. Especially statues.
Now the question I have for them, is what in the H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks you are going to put in their place.
I'm really curious. I think those guys have:
1) A lack of taste.
2) A lack of style.
3) Zero artistic ability.
4) No souls. I believe this. Souls may be imaginary, but see they have no imagination...
5) Basically you guys suck. You really, really suck.
If you are smart you'll bring in some Italians on H1B visas, give them some marble, and get the hell out of the way.
For some reason, those guys crap out fine art. They can't help themselves.

I thought we were talking about From Dixie with love? Which was going strong until the students decided it was a great time to shout THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN at our black football team. No one gives a shite about the rest of that stuff.

It goes deeper than just the Confederate. They hate America because of the indoctration that's been shoved in their minds since they were kids. It's disgusting because they are helping to destroy America and don't even realize it or don't care. They think they are morally superior "fighting the good fight" when they are being played, nothing but pawns. Self entitled know-it-alls who won't listen to reason. They have nothing to fall back on either because they have very little life experience due to their age. What is hard for me to fanthom is how easy this has happened. Never in my life I would think a country as strong and freedom loving as America would take this crap.

It's retarded that beautiful song is banned. It combines Dixie with the Battle Hymn of the Republic. The song is meant to unite the two sides who fought in the War.

It's a lot more complicated than that. People and students stood up for it unless you're fricking blind. The problem is, 10% of those people say and do the wrong things, because they are actually racist. Then the other 90% like me who disagreed with all of it, had no real say or power in the matter. All I know I was a student when they got rid of Colonel Reb, and when they had the "student-body" vote for his replacement. Literally EVERY student I talked to voted for something other than the Black Bear. The students were making fun of the fact that it was even on the ballot. Most people including myself voted for the riverboat captain, who looked just like Colonel Reb. My point is, is that, our administration took all the power from the student body. We had no real say in the matter, it was rigged.. And WE are the ones left with the shame.
I'm sick of our fans saying, we got rid of all that for recruiting purposes. (Henry Jones Jr).... the reason may be so.. but the changes haven't done squat to our recruiting. So frick these changes.

This video is one of the most powerful things I've seen on the subject. Forget the fact that it's me who is sharing it, and just listen to the three main people in the video - the two students, and the Chancellor. We don't need to agree on the conclusions drawn, as long as we can at least hear the impact of keeping OR taking away these symbols on the respective groups.
