It goes deeper than just the Confederate. They hate America because of the indoctration that's been shoved in their minds since they were kids. It's disgusting because they are helping to destroy America and don't even realize it or don't care. They think they are morally superior "fighting the good fight" when they are being played, nothing but pawns. Self entitled know-it-alls who won't listen to reason. They have nothing to fall back on either because they have very little life experience due to their age. What is hard for me to fanthom is how easy this has happened. Never in my life I would think a country as strong and freedom loving as America would become this crap
.

A Missou fan nails it.

Okay, I watched most of that video.

As an aside, I'd love to have some info on the guy who appears about 6 minutes in. Lessee, we have a guy Central Casting sent to embody the preppy-douchebag-frat boy role.

And when asked "What do you think will happen today?"

Well he purses his lips and says: "I really don't care. F*4k thos n#$8834s!" The cameraman asks "That it?" Douche: "Yeah. F#%$ those n*))(&*."

Now, it's perfectly possible that you could find someone with this profile to say this. (Kind of expect them to be falling down drunk though.)

But isn't that awful convenient? Poop swastika convenient actually?

I'd say I'd love to have info on this guy. Is he a bank manager in Tupelo or Biloxi now? Or is he a lawyer working somewhere like DC or Atlanta.

Not super up on the Mississippi accent, but he is definitely southern, so it couldn't have been cast by a Hollywood arse clown (they always get the accent wrong).

Obviously this isn't a trial, but I'd love to ask Jake McGraw (who you meet a little further on in the video) if he knew the individual I refer to above prior to that shot.

Conspiracy theory? Tinfoil hat? More like cynicism.

For example the Confederate Flag flew above the State House for most of my life in Columbia, South Carolina. I can't remember anyone remarking on that at all, for any reason.

Yet somehow, for no apparent reason this got to be an issue all of a sudden. Now how does stuff like this happen?

I'm willing to admit that maybe it was percolating in the black community for a long time. I tend to doubt it though. Because in roughly 30 to 40 years I think I would have heard something. But no, I remember the occasional comment about the State House dome being green "Doesn't look right now, it should be green*," but about the Confederate Flag?

Nothing. So how does stuff like that start?

*They did some kind of restoration or repair. Now it looks like Copper. Maybe it did for a few years in the beginning, but it's natural shade should be green. Because I know darn well no one was getting on that thing and polishing it even in the old days.

Please do, Ole Miss.

Also, please purge your school of all non-white students and athletes. It's the only way to truly embrace the eliteness and greatness of your genes. Hopefully, Auburn and others will follow suit.

SWAC and MEAC tv deals and ratings would soar

Just think you'd get your boosters' daughters and the Heisman House back, too.

No. Collegiate athletics would just cease to exist as we currently know it

Just for the heck of it.

Hannah Loy (the white blonde) now lives in the DC area. She is a an "Executive Assistant Office Manager" for RMB Capital (headquartered in Chicago).

Sniff, sniff, what's that? I smell SJW. Reeking. Guess she learned the secret handshake.

Jake McGraw is more interesting. He actually STAYED in Mississippi, Jackson to be precise. Seems to have the usual setup, re no obvious means of support. He is apparently a "community organizer" or something.

Interestingly he proudly lists the University of Oxford (shouldn't that be Oxford University though) as his educational credentials, with no mention of Ole Miss (unless he is channeling his inner Jethro Bodine). Really can't believe he was a Rhodes Scholar though.

Given the fact that he is a veteran of various groups like the William Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation, and Obama for America I think a political run may be in the cards. Given his advanced age (guys like past 30 man) I doubt he has the chops for it like Bubba Clinton though.

No info on Melissa Cole. Maybe she is actually leading a normal life somewhere?

Love to know about the douchebag though. Dollars to doughnuts the man wound up a lawyer.

no they wouldn't. If we re-segregated and all blacks went to HBCUs there would still be collegiate athletics at both white schools and HBCUs. It is hard to determine if HBCUs would have an increase in revenue comparable to what P5 schools have today due to tv contracts, but athletics would continue to exist.

The resegregation thing is a strawman.

Personally I believe that are long as groups are readily identifiable, to themselves and each other, you are going to have friction. Just the way it works.

My point is, I don't believe things like changing the Ole Miss mascot or this particular song actually came about from the groups we are taking about, Southern Whites and Blacks.

If I understand it correctly, this whole "South shall rise again" chant started in the Civil Rights Era? And continued for at least 40 years without it being much of an issue?

Personally I wouldn't give up the song. If I lived in Mississippi and some black people that actually lived there said the chant bothered them, I personally wouldn't do it.

I think the Colonel Reb thing is ludicrous though. I'd fight to the death to defend the rights of an imaginary planter who is either based on Colonel Sanders or who Colonel Sanders based himself on.

And interestingly I hate Scarlet and Rhett as much as the SPLC does. Love the Cross of St. Andrews. But my south is more Scotch-Irish than some half-arse copies of English aristocrats.

Thus the qualifier "as we know it"... it would probably be something like it is at the Ivy's. But I wouldn't expect a Gump to be able to read, let alone comprehend, an entire sentence

I wish young black people would stop complaining about the racism at white universities and just stop going there completely. If you don't like something about a particular university or you feel that it is too biased towards whites then don't attend. That way Ole Miss and any other university can carry on their traditions as they please no matter how offensive someone else may perceive them to be. Those who are offended should choose HBCUs to be their safe space. Getting the best students in HBCUs would do alot for the universities themselves as well as the community overall. This would also stop alot of bitching about "muh feelings" and "muh heritage". It is tiring to see the efforts of these kids to get someone to change their beliefs when all they have to do is ignore them and not willfully participate in them.

The problem is that administrations know that if this did happen it would trickle down to athletics and they don't want that at all. If blacks decided to segregate themselves white universities, especially in the south, would lose millions upon millions and that is not what they want. They like make all that money so they'd rather kill anything they think blacks may be offended by than tell them to suck it up or kick rocks.

We know athletics as they are, but nothing would change, idiot. The universities and conferences that dominate in particular sports would "change as we know it", but nothing about athletics would change.

Not what you are referring to, but southern campuses are segregated. It's not that there are laws, but the students (particularly black ones) segregate themselves.

And it is the same way up north or out west.

If are a SJW and want to know what your heroes experienced fighting the man, and marching for freedom - well here's what you do.

Find a black barber shop. Walk in off the street. You will find eyeballs boring into the back of your skull.

If ya got balls, ask for a fade.

Melissa Cole is an impressive young lady who went on to become a doctor and lives in Texas. She still proudly lists Ole Miss as her alma mater on her Facebook page.

Ben Guest, who created the film, finished his Master of Secondary Education degree through the Mississippi Teacher Corps, went on to become the Program Coordinator of the MTC, study towards a doctorate in Educational Leadership (I don't know if he finished), and now lives in Namibia.

Ben was a good friend for years before we lost touch and I can assure you nothing in that short film is fraudulent. You can make the claim that including the frat boy for effect was over the top, and you may be right, but it was genuine and it was included to demonstrate that some people with extreme views were very comfortable expressing them (at least at the time of that recording).

Thank you guys for taking a look at the film. Like I said, we don't all have to agree on what it all means, but it's good to be willing to try to understand where all sides are coming from.

Incidentally, even though I believe in removing any and all symbols of the Confederacy from public institutions, I do understand the emotion and the love for the South that the song invokes. When I hear that slow version played, I get emotional too. It stirs something in my just like in all Southerners. That doesn't make it the right thing to do, though. We can love the South without perpetuating symbols that continue to make black Mississippians feel excluded.

You're not only ignorant, but also a cowardly little runt who enjoys the anonymity of the internet to protect him from being accountable for what he says.

It was one my fondest memories of the old LSU-Mississippi games hearing the Ole Miss band play Dixie. And this was back when I was a youngster and didn't know the relevance of the song.

I understand the need not to play the song, but do not agree with the non-playing. I am waiting for Ole Miss to one day get into trouble because their colors are too much of a reminder of the old Confederate colors and are forced to change school colors.

Come on man, let's not kid ourselves here, both are repugnant. Racism, and particularly slavery is as evil as it gets, and comes straight out of the bowels of hell. My problem with all this is how it's being done and the motives. SJW and BLM are just as worse as the very things they are protesting about in a fascist state of mind. The whole liberal theology is behind this and birthed it into existence stemming from the pc movement. It is a natural progression when minds are warped as they are.

like I said, I wish black people would stop being sensitive towards this shite. Keep your statues, keep your songs, and keep your heritage, they are yours. They are a source of inspiration to me to conquer. I achieve in spite of that those symbols. I do interpret them differently, but I rise well above them as I continue to grow and dominate the spaces around me. I wish more black people would show more strength instead of visually and vocally showing that you are weakened by this crap. Be strong.

Thank God for iTunes, and I still play it in the Grove and on road trips for games. Its still not as chilling as the band playing it, but that's the last resort.
