Anyone remember at our last SWC game in Little Rock our band played "All My Exes Live In Texas". I was there with my dad, we got the biggest kick out of it and he sang every word. Instead of saying "And thats why I hang my hat in Tennessee" we all said "thats why I'm moving to the SEC" at the end. Was that in '92? Were we playing Texass? Maybe our band didn't play it, maybe it was over the loudspeakers, I can't remember.
I agree, being from Central Arkansas I've always felt we are a much better fit culturally in the SEC. Me and my dad thought we hit the jackpot leaving that crooked conference, and I still think so today.

Remember the tall red-headed radio man for the Hogs always yelling and screaming about refs calls when we played Houston in later years.

I remember singing it in Reunion Arena, as the Hogs were beating Texas in the SWC Tournament title game by 31, in our swan song performance.

BTW,what the heck happened to Arkansas in 1990 ? Pre-season top 10. I know the season started just a month or so after it was announced Arkansas was leaving the SWC for the SEC,so their were some hard feelings, but Arkansas got the hell beat out of them most games.Even in 'close games' teams like Rice scored over 40.

A ton of that ranking was based off of our effort against Tennessee in the previous year's Cotton Bowl.
The real problem with the '90 team was that all the dynamic defensive talent left; Wayne Martin and Steve Atwater moved on to the professional ranks, and the complete lack of depth developed in the last two years of the Hatfield era began to show.
Throw in some early season injuries and reshuffling on the offensive line, and the cascade effect started early. Jack Crowe was as completely unprepared for that job as Mark May would be without a spit-shield for his talks with Holtz.
That team wasn't just bad-- it was untalented, unmotivated, and coached by the equivalent of a potted plant. Crowe later found his level of competency by going down a division, and eventually defeating the monkey with a whistle this year.
