I am not a Hog fan it is personal between me and Dean, has been for over 20 years. But growing up I was a huge Hog fan, since I lived next to Bud Turk, knew most of players etc.

sms151t is not a Hog fan. He is very knowledgeable about our program for not being one though.

What made you change from being a Hog fan to a Mustang?

If I recall correctly, Houston is the only SWC program we have a losing record to is basketball.

Nope. Arkansas is 21-16 in their series with Houston, all time.

LINK

Texas Tech is the only one even approaching even-- most of them are 30+ game differentials, whereas the Hogs hold a 1 game edge over the Red Raiders.

I can't say I remember feeling anything about Baylor

Baylor had Walter Abercrombie and embarassed Arkansas in GOW to earn Cotton Bowl berth in 84-83? To this day I remember Hotz and his freaking red pants on sideline looking like he had no clue.

FYI: Holtz never made the adjustments at half all the assistants did, he would go into the Equipment room and watch ABC coverage, first time I ever saw that I was shocked.

So glad we're being shite on by the SEC instead of the SWC these days. The SEC can be somewhat brutal (imo), but the SWC put us all in a complete and total "us vs the world" mindset.

And people wonder why Arkansas and its fans have a chip on our shoulder.

Im not a Mustang fan really, I knew SMU would have a 30 for 30 so why not remember the old homecoming shirts they had.

I was at SMU's last game before Death, against Arkansas in Texas Stadium. Then the hate for Dean started about 3 weeks later.

Losing to Baylor 3 times in 4 years (and winning the other game in LR by 2 points) is a large part of the football-based argument that Lou had to go.

That said, we know he was canned for other reasons.

Gotcha, I thought you were one of these "all the games should be played in Fayetteville fans". I don't care if they play in Iraq, If I've got a ticket I am going to make it.

The losing record, not listening to the Great White Father, and the Jessie Helms thing were all parts of it.

There were rumors that Frank would go into the concessions room while counting money and just take hand fulls of 20's and the rumors that Sutton sold the extra Nikes to prisoners. Man I forgot how much fun it was back then when you knew the right people. I do remember though they got in trouble for having poor accounting of gear and money in mid 1980's.

I think he's asking which Dean you're talking about. I'm kinda curious myself.

Yeah, I haven't been able to shake it completely. Though the SEC has been much kinder to us, I still get that "everybody is out to get us" feeling from time to time.

This thread got me thinking what is worse...

The Raycom SWC game of the week at Autry Court with whoever as game 1 then going to Heart of America Rodeo Arena for game 2 with Frank Fallon while the Arkansas game was played at 7:00 but had to be taped delayed until 10:30.

Or--

The JP games of the week which were always Auburn or Vandy and the Kentucky game with Larry Conley and Tom Hammond doing a pep rally.

Me and Dean Weber had a couple run ins for something a long time ago and the feelings were hard, they have mellowed out in past couple years after I moved back, but I never forgot what he said to me and way he said it to me.
