So, trying to dodge the dreaded 'lack of institutional control' charge and to save Freeze's arse.

Reverand Freeze is going to have to come up with something really good to absolve himself of this. Blaming Reverand Nutt is not going to fly this time.

Freeze the gopher might as well start digging his own grave.

Contesting is the worst thing Ole Miss can do now. NCAA is going to hammer them!

As stated in February when the Notice of Allegations was issued, we have cooperated fully with the NCAA enforcement staff over the more than four-year-long process.

The University has also concluded that Allegations Nos. 9, Allegation 12, 14-(e)-(g), Allegation 15 and Allegations 16-(b)-(c) either lack the sufficient level of credible and persuasive support necessary for the Committee to find a violation under the Bylaw 19.7.8.3 evidentiary standard or are contradicted by the objective and verifiable evidence. As with the institutional control and head coach responsibility allegations, the decision to contest these charges was not taken lightly. These allegations, however, rely almost exclusively on testimony from [Student-Athlete 39], a former University recruit and current [Institution 10] student- athlete, whose testimony was, at best, incomplete and inconsistent. In critical part, [Student-Athlete 39’s] testimony was either contradicted or not corroborated

No, it says Ole Miss CLAIMS that everything Leo Lewis said is a lie.

Given Ole Miss's history, they clearly doubt him because he's black.

"Although we agree several violations occurred, we do not agree that credible and persuasive evidence supports all of the allegations in the Notice"

We aren't saying we didn't do it, just that you can't prove we did. I like that defense.

Damn! That's one helluva Jedi mind trick Master Freezus is putting on Ole Miss...

Freezus: "You will defend me at all costs and deny everything."

Bjork: "We will defend you at all costs and deny everything. Lawyer up! Shields at full power! Arm all bullshite cannons and prepare to fire!"

Not a very in-depth argument. Most of the response was we improved the process after we fricked up. I do not see them defending Freeze for long.

So, what happened since 2/22/17? Maybe that's what turned Barney Farrar so bitter. Maybe he didn't like getting fingered for everything?

4. In the fourth allegation, it is alleged that between April 2014 and February 2015, Former Staff Member A initiated and facilitated two boosters having impermissible contact with Prospective Student-Athlete B (who enrolled at another institution). It is further alleged that these two boosters provided Prospective Student-Athlete B (who enrolled at another institution) with impermissible cash payments during that timeframe and that Former Staff Member A knew about the cash payments. The value of the alleged inducements according to the NCAA is between $13,000 and $15,600. This is charged as a Level I violation.

The university believes there is sufficient credible and persuasive evidence to conclude that the impermissible contact outlined in the fourth allegation occurred.

Leo is "Student Athlete 39" and he was interviewed three times. First he was interviewed without OM knowledge or OM being present. (This is a no-no according to by-laws) This information was withheld for weeks and then told to us. We requested to cross examine him or be present at the second interview of Leo (which seems to have been granted) but Leo's counsel advised him not to respond to any of the questions and the NCAA did not make him answer. (He pleaded the 5th basically) Lastly, Ole Miss was not allowed to sit in on his third interview or even listen to his statements.
Also, we requested to interview both Mullen and Leo together but the committee and Mullen both denied that request.

Hmmmmm.

Yes because not pushing back against the NCAA has worked well for us so far...
