Olsen looks nice, but shite guys, its small. Its not a big park at all.
I know you are proud of it, and you should be, because it is sharp, but when I see Aggies talking about it like its the toast of CBB, I cringe.
I was there last spring prior to renovations. Even with the renovations, its just not a very big park.
The reality about Blue Bell is....welcome to Baum Stadium, circa 1997.

It's not just the # of seats at Olsen that pings the needle, it's everything we have there ...
Student Academic Support Center , Field Turf and natural grass conditioning areas, Olympic Weight Training Center, training Hot and Cold tubs galore, indoor and outdoor batting cages, position meeting areas, film rooms, press conference rooms, auditoriums, massive locker rooms and training areas, food service areas for players, juice/smoothie/protein bar areas, player lounges, homework areas, etc.
If you measure Olsen by seats, you're missing 2/3rds of what recruits will see, and I guarantee that what we've built, in total, is top 3-5 in the nation. Come on down, I'll give you a tour, and you can see for yourself.
And we have PLENTY of room to grow to as many seats as we want. Everything else is world class, period.

I am always impressed with how well the turf is maintained at Baum, and some other stadiums. It really looks nice.

I've had this same discussion with folks talking about minor league parks--I far prefer Bricktown in Oklahoma City over Dell Diamond in Round Rock and the Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco for this reason. Has no one been to Sunken Diamond at Stanford? It's a great place to watch a game. The new stadium at the University of San Diego has the best view.

Vandy is currently planning a huge renovation project to Vanderbilt Stadium that will also have effects on the baseball program. VU wants to build a 2nd set of luxury boxes on the East side of the stadium that will include a donor level reception area and luxury boxes for the baseball stadium down the 3rd baseline. Plans should be out in the late spring/early summer after board approval and the project is officially announced.
Also sounds like baseball will be getting a new video scoreboard that will be one of the largest in the country hopefully by the start of next season.

Love Sunken Diamond! Watched many baseball games there. It's actually a very simple park, 4000 chair-backs with grass berms on each baseline.
I would have loved an awning over the stands, especially on the 3rd-baseline stands though.

I'd rank Arkansas, LSU and South Carolina
1 A-B and C.
Especially now that LSU has filled in the previously empty spots in the 'avant garde' nouveau architecture style grandstand frame of the new Alex Box with additional box suites and decorative appointments.
Plus the added capacity and the lush exterior grounds and interior luxury and plush appointments, museum, hall of fame, etc.
After those three I would include (in no order)
Ole Miss
Auburn
Florida State
Miss. State
A&M
Clemson
Oregon
1 A-B and C.

I definitely wouldnt put USCe with Ark and LSU. I think The Box and The Baum stand in a league of their own and there is a significant drop off after the two. I think Alex Box and Baum are about tied. Maybe Baum being a little nicer. Both stadiums are unbelievable. I like The Box bc of the Champion's Club and having season tickets there makes me a happy boy. Might try to make it out to the Baum this year, really wanna check that thing out first hand

I am surprised that UT, with its long history of success & money, money, money does not have a larger stadium & support from its fans. Baseball is not as big as football in Texas, but its highschool programs are numerous & puts out a great many players. Whereas here in La., highschool baseball is "relatively" new, really going back only 20 yrs at best, for the State as a whole anyway. Wondering which 4 weenies own their 4 suites, tho.
