No space left from bookmarking all the threads last year where I pointed out to Bama fans that their offense would struggle against above average Ds this year, while Bama fans responded by telling me that the '13 version of the Bama offense would be the best in the country.

You finished 6th in total offense in the conference. 4th in scoring, but you were aided by 7 non-offensive TDs on the year, which was much more than anybody else in the conference...and that was with McCarron. Next year should be an interesting clusterfrick.

Some head coaches don't do as good a job calling plays as they did when they were the OC. Fact of the matter is, Lane Kiffin presided over a USC offense in 2005 that averaged nearly 600 yards per game. And in the 3 years he was the recruiting coordinator at USC the Trojans finished with the #1 class every single year. He was an excellent play caller as a coordinator and was one hell of a recruiter. Piece of shite human being though. But I do have to admit I would be intrigued if we hired him. Saban spoke of hitting the "reset" button after we lost to Oklahoma. I am starting to really wonder what changes he has in mind.

Again, USC QBs and Reggie Bush. I think Pete Carroll might have had something to do with that success. Look at what Kiffin did at OAK, TN and USC, not very impressive.

One of the reasons it was time for Nuss to go.

Another reason he needed to go.

With all of that talent you or I could've done almost as good, that' a fact.

Good riddance, guy was nothing special.

Pass happy, refusing to adjust, see ya later.

Too bad we can't get McElwain back, loved him.

It was when he was an OC at USC...which is what I mentioned in my OP

You do realize that Sarkisian called the plays when they were at USC (they were co-coordinators), not Kiffin.

He lost 3 dominant OL, a TE, and a dominant RB. He was playing the hand he was dealt early in the year. I don't care how much talent is waiting in the wings, you don't replace guys like Jones, Warmack, Fluker, Williams, and Lacy like nothing happened.

So how would that be any different from Derrick Henry, TJ Yeldon, and Kenyan Drake at RB; DeAndrew White and Amari Cooper at WR; and (possibly) Jacob Coker at QB next year?

Obviously if you have talent you'll be able to do shite with it.

Nuss wasn't bad but he was always going to be compared to McElwain, who I thought was one of the best Off Coordinators in college football while here. There was definitely room for improvement, so I'm not upset to see him leave.

Nussmeier wasnt bad at all, but sometimes he would get stubborn.

I don't mind the change. Its not hard to produce with the players we have.

Why did Nussmeier leave? Michigan offer more money than Bama was willing to pony up?

Just a hunch, but I think it was a mutual decision between him and Saban to leave.

Look what Ellis Johnson did at Southern Miss. Some guys just can't run a program.

Saban has said he may consider going to HUNH. Unthinkable a few years ago, but it would be interesting to see.

Next year though with a new QB and those horses in the backfiel just run the damm ball.

The thing about hiring Kiffen is that he will not get to talk to the media - Saban doesn't allow it.

I don't think it will happen, but he is a great recruiter . . .

I'm seeing Bama looking for a HUNH-type guy. Maybe not to the extent of Malzahn, but someone young and eager, looking to move up and show what they can do. Could be exciting.

Well, for one, you're playing in the SEC and not flinging it around against teams from Oregon, Washington, and Arizona. Not to mention that both Stanford and UCLA were way down during his time there. That makes a huge difference, believe it or not.
