quote:Exactly, the FBI's involvement is great for AU to the extent there is nothing to find.
If anyone paid for Cam Newton to come to Auburn, we will know about it now.
If the FBI finds nothing, I am content in conceding that Newton did not get paid.
quote:I am not knowledgeable regarding the FBI, but I would be very suprised if they had any type of broad subpoena power that they could use in this matter.
The NCAA does not have subpoena power, but the FBI does.

But this board is full of the future FBI investigators of the world who already know more than anyone actually involved.
And the deal with Bond's story, for those with short memories, is that there were two middle men involved in his dealings with Kenny Rogers, dealings that Rogers vehemently deny ever happened.
Auburn's already verified they had no dealings with Rogers, by the way.
so yeah.

The FBI can subpeona whatever they want. However, I can't imagine what they would want in this matter. The only thing would be the money trail if there is one I suppose.

I will start off by saying that I think all of this stuff sounds like a bunch of hearsay that will lead nowhere.
However, Auburn's position for the last two weeks means they are all in on this deal. That is, if the NCAA determines that someone in Cam's family gave this slimebucket the right to "negotiate" for the Newtons with different universities, Auburn would receive the worst possible punishment from the SEC, up to and including the dreaded "death penalty." I don't think it would even matter if Auburn knew about it or not, because of their position over the last week that they have vetted this issue and know that Cam is eligible.
I really don't think they will find anything. I'm just saying it's really really bad if they do.
I will say, generally, Cam seems likable (except for the pre-game end celebration for which he should have been called for unsportsmanlike conduct in the LSU game), and I don't believe he had anything to do with anything. It would not surprise me if his dad was in on something though.

I'm just having fun with this. You know y'all would do the same if McElroy was being investigated.
It would be funny as shite though if Cam got waterboarded during interogation.

Any chance they could direct part of their investigation at the POS gator that released confidential information?
