the fact that he has continually regressed from his original statement. First Rogers called him, then it was a friend of a friend's info that he had "heard about".

Question because I haven't been following:
Can I get a bare bones, 2 sentence cliff notes on what can realistically be assumed at this point?

Federal Gov't + NCAA= all daaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

This is bad news for Auburn. The FBI brings subpoena power which means ALL financial records, not just the ones the Newtons felt like giving the NCAA.
Of course, if there is nothing there, then they will find nothing, but now things will be viewed with a microscope not binoculars from twenty miles away.
That is if the FBI story is even true.

This is where the facts will come out. The NCAA does not have subpoena power, but the FBI does. Records are going to come out and people are going to start talking.
If anyone paid for Cam Newton to come to Auburn, we will know about it now.
If the FBI finds nothing, I am content in conceding that Newton did not get paid.

Allegations that Cam Newton recieved $200,000
One of the few organizations that has the power to prove or disprove that allegation is now involved

Fine with me. Have said all along that if AU is guilty, throw the book at them. If this is bullshite being thrown by rivals, then they need to have their asses drug across the carpet.
