You should have stopped at the part in bold.

I don't think they care about the alleged cheating.

If they are snooping it's about money. I've got a friend in the FBI. He doesn't do this type of work but he may know what they would be looking for. I'll ask him.

You do realize the thing that did bama in, during the Albert Means saga, was the FBI getting involved.

This is the worst possible thing that Auburn could hear right now.

This. If you thought an NCAA investigator was bad news, FBI agents asking questions is going to really scare anyone associated with AU. The FBI will cut deals with people to coerce people to talk in exchange for testimony to find out who was paid and where the money came from.

And another warning.....the FBI rarely gets involved in highly publicized scandals unless there is fire where the smoke is coming from. The FBI thinks very highly of itself and does not like having egg on its face for investigating a non-event.

hmmm...I thought he changed it.

Nope. Bond said the original REPORTS were inaccurate. He was on Atlanta radio the day after it broke saying that the NYT and ESPN misreported the contents of his affidavit, and set the record straight about what he originally said.

That is a huge difference from changing HIS story.

And you believe John Bond, someone who the Feds are now intersted in, over the world wide leader in sports?

Never said it was, nor said there was a connection.

Open attempt to flame...with a little true belief in there as well...and a little side knowledge about the workings FBI from a buddy who is an agent...

(1) The FBI does not get involved in public stuff like this unless or until they believe that there is credible evidence to work with;
(2) I have a feeling that the standard Auby/SECR stance of "deny/why us" mentality that has been so pervasive on here since last Thursday may be transposed into "why did the NCAA give our football program the death penalty...we are the true victims here" mentality...
(3) The FBI does have subpoena powers and the justice department does not play around, things will get settled and they will likely get settled much faster now than if the NCAA went at it alone.
(4) Auburn better hope that the higher ups in the FBI are not Bama fans...

I'm saying that in the rush to report a story, sometimes people make elementary errors.

As we've seen about 2,000 times on this board since Friday, on this story alone.

They are investigating the Newton Family more than likely

Are they not connected to AU?

They are officially investigating "whether young men are being shopped to colleges" and are interviewing John Bond.

Sounds like it implicates Kenny Rogers and his role.

Have you ever seen someone change their story when it gets out of hand?

Sicne they first came out with errors, I can assume you will be skeptical on their stories moving forward with their history of errors.

Really? You'd be suprised the FBI could subpoena any American citizen that they wanted to?
