so our state produces good coaches, how many of them left the school? cant give everyone a head coaching job just because they are from the state. Never know with Gus though, we are his dream job.

would be hilarious if he went to Texas and hired your guy Briles. Long did discuss the Arkansas job with him after all but he wouldn't leave the state.

He left you "his dream job" for the same position at Tulsa. But we will let yall dream since BB has turned into a nightmare so far.

oh so the whole state? that's even funnier considering how many of those coaches you listed aren't even native Arkansans. keep reaching.

Again, with the reading

1) I did not make the thread

2) Bear Bryant was born and raised in Arkansas

3) Barry Switzer was born and raised in Arkansas and attended Arkansas

4) Jimmy Johnson attended Arkansas, coached there, left the state for bigger and better things

Actually, no....

Both Switzer and Johnson wanted the head job here but Broyles didn't hire them.

Is this your way of conceding that Briles was your best bet after all?

That's all I've ever wanted, Lat.

I don't think Texas goes after Briles. He's just a little too old. But he'd kill it there.

NBC Sports is reporting Arkansas AD Jeff Long will interview at Texas this week.

If that is true, and he takes the job, then Mack Brown is done as of the end of this season of course.

Wonder who he'll go after?

not conceding anything. just saying you railed on Long for not going after Briles (though he did talk with him) and he may end up getting him after all.

Do you support Long? Do you think he's a good AD?

yes and yes.

I'm not sold on the bball hire but I think his handling of the Petrino situation was admirable.

Then you support him favoring Briles over Bert, which means you submit to me and my opinion.

as I've said all along, I'll wait more than 1 season to judge the hire, would've been the same no matter who he hired

No it wouldn't.

Arkansas' personnel is more suited to run Briles' offense than that anochronistic shite Bert uses.

Briles would've gotten to a bowl game.

and then what? took him how many years to get Baylor good? and he's old already.

we lost our best QB, RB, WR and TE, not even Briles would've gotten this team to 8 wins.

I thought y'all had lots of money? Why won't y'all pony up to keep him? You need some quality people associated with your program our you could be the new Ole Miss for a LONG time.
