Not sure why you say that.
His name has been mentioned as one of the top candidates since the day Dodds announced his intentions.

Doubt he'll get the job though.
What makes you say that? Long wouldn't get close to the interview stage if there wasn't very, very significant interest.

Dumb statement considering we fire or make people retire.

If he goes, he goes but I would personally hate to lose him.

Jeff Long does not make The Flagship. The Flagship makes Jeff Long.

I hate to see Long leave, but if it happens the new AD's first order of business should be to get Coke back

Without a doubt, Luck's name has been tossed around since the beginning as well.

yeah so bad that he's a finalist for arguably the best AD job in the country.

I'd hate to see Arky lose him; he's a good AD and a really nice person. Even more than that, however, I'd hate to see Texass get a good AD. I like it when they suck.

Birt. He just realized he's not in a "Big10 type" conference anymore.

He's not leaving.

Notice Jay Jacobs isn't being considered.

Texas may want him more since he is on the playoff committee too. Thats an extra vote if they are near the top.
