i think the viewership is based on the rankings on the teams that season. two ranked teams more likely to be viewed, partly b/c those games get the prime time spots.

Any UNC game will bring in a lot of viewers because of the brand.

I would think it would be good for the SEC to swoop in and pick these two up. Increased TV revenue, increase the basketball footprint, force the SEC to go to a 9 game football conference schedule and cut some of these creampuff games we do get, etc.

i don't think a Clemson-UNC game in which Clemson was not ranked would have high viewership.

UNC basketball has a large national following and UNC/Duke games are routinely among the most watched every season.

Let me explain this for you.

# of UNC basketball fans > # of clemson basketball fans

When UNC is on TV more people watch, regardless of who they are playing. That's what conferences want their hands on.

The amount of people who will tune into UNC vs anyone will always be higher than clemson vs anyone, excepting the yearly beatdown clemson gets from UNC.

What if. They call the ACCs hand. ACC says no. UNC and NCState jumps to the SEC. One year later the law is changed.
Now we can have any NCAA championship in NC. Our expansion is solved.

Sometimes my brilliant mind amazes me.

most games don't have the viewership of UNC-duke. lol

ACC has a lot of good basketball programs. to me it is the comeptitiveness of the conference that attracts viewerships. if UNC was a lock to destroy teams within the conference, nobody would want to watch it.

Even in a bad year for UNC you will have people tune in just to see them lose.

You're as rustled as Tillman at thought of UNC being a cornerstone of the SEC East and owning the Carolina's market

UNC only beat Clemson barely this year and their guard Berry had to score like 40 points. nice false narrative though.

i don't think UNC's viewership is signifincalty higher than any large university program that is ranked within a given season.

I would love to see this happen because of another 2nd order effect:

The ACC now has to make Notre Dame (13) a permanent member in all sports and then tries to poach Texas (14) as a member.

In doing so, the Big 12 goes ape shite trying to block the move, with ESPN citing redacted details in the Longhorn Network contract and Baylor suing the shite out of everyone.

Hilarity ensues for everyone NOT in the Big 12 to see.

The national following of Duke and UNC drives a lot of those ratings. #16 UNC vs unranked Va Tech will draw a lot better than #5 Pitt vs #8 Syracuse, for example.

doesn't mean Clemson gets 'destroyed' there. that will be different from season to season.

i love how you cocks love talking about UNC's streak against Clemson at UNC. how are gamecocks talking trash about basketball. it not like SC is going to beat UNC much at UNC or anywhere

Well this is just wrong. Look at any NCAA Basketball merch site and UNC will always be one of the brands being peddled. Why? Because they sell.

Now, the strength and popularity of CFB vs Basketball makes a program like Clemson FB more valuable than UNC basketball, imo. I'd be shocked if Clemson FB didn't make more $ than UNC hoops

This part is obvious by your posts

Even the dumbest tshit fan in american knows UNCheats has brand power. Look in almost any sporting goods store in the USA and you will find schools like UNC and Texas in their merchandise.

Yeah, actually they do. There are tons and tons of people around the country that are big fans of college basketball in general and will tune in to to see top teams like UNC, Duke, Kentucky whenever they can. Just like people who are football fans will tune in to watch Bama.

UNC basketball is also the type of huge national brand that draws in tons of bandwagon fans. The type of people who are Michigan football fans and UNC basketball fans. I actually know one of those btw.

When I was in middle school in the early 2000s it was cool to have a UNC hat. You weren't cool in 6th grade without one. That's brand power
