This isn't preferential treatment. This is SOP for most true first time offenders. Most of those thugs you mentioned have a nice rap sheet going before they every go to "prison".

Question: do you know the identities of the 2 other passengers in the vehicle? Because you seem to be just assuming that they were indeed black as well, if you don't know their identities. I don't believe they were charged, so not sure how you would know this.

That's stupid. And really the two don't connect - there's no tangible insurance for a player that if he commits a crime he will get preferential treatment. What crime? Where did he commit it? Who is prosecuting?
