Next time student athletes whine about getting paid...

Someone please point out that had any other two individuals been arrested in a car with a stolen gun, weed, etc. at 4:00 AM they would for sure have "had their lives ruined" as the DA made clear he did not want to do.
Had those two kids been just your average thug with no athletic future, they'd be behind bars for a very long time. It would be nice if the usual culprits in the media (Jon Soloman, Dennis Dodd, etc.) would remember this next time they want to pen one of their "modern-day slavery" columns.

You're mistaking an athlete getting preferential treatment for someone with money getting preferential treatment. DA's get paid off across the country every day.

Really its just being able to afford a lawyer and fighting it.
Most would just pay a lawyer to mitigate their punishment and not pay enough to really fight it

Well a get out of jail free card is priceless sometimes. But yeah the new Mercedes Saban sent from his lot is the DA getting paid, not the players. They got theirs when they signed.

Just say the word you actually want to say. This word has replaced the other word and you feel you get away with it.

I use thug quite often for white criminals. The mob and organized crime has been refereed to as thugs for a long period of time

Actually the word has its origins from India. It derived from a Hindi word meaning "thief". But let's make everything racist these days in order to fit our narrative that everything and everybody is a racist bigot homophobe. I bet all those people in 19th century Mumbai who invented the word "thug" had 21st century African Americans in mind... everyone is just so racist.

You're in the minority these days. That's my point.
Thug = black person. Look at it any time the word is used these days. The person is ALWAYS black.

I'm not talking about india in the 19th century. I'm talking about today, in America. If the person was white, you would not have called them a thug. I can almost guarantee it.

Except it's not. Just making observations on what is normal these days. Just look at any time the word is used. Show me one case where it's recently been used for a white person?
