I doubt many Bama fans would be cool with offering full rides to former teammates sons who will never play meaningful snaps. Doing this all why numbers are tight because you don't take in huge classes. Theres a player on clemsons team whose dad was sick who was offered a grey shirt at Bama but Dabo offered him a full scholarship. Cool story but this is division one football. Would Bama fans be ok with it? Maybe but a completely different style than Saban

Good thing we have the Bryant scholarship for things like this. They'll still get a full ride, but it won't be a football scholly

I don't know if the Bryant scholarship only applies to kids who dad played directly for the Bear or not, but I'm sure as hell confident that the REC will expand it so Dabo isn't throwing scholarships away to 1* and 2* Bama legacies

but Les Miles is Dabo?

1 national championship

no real football specialty (OC or DC)

both speak like they went to shitty public school

matter of time before Dabo is going 8-4

Well, if any fan would know what constitutes a shitty HC, LSU fans would be the ones.

Saban is pissed after 40 points wins. Dabo is a win is a win guy

Saban said literally the same thing after the close Arkansas win in 2014. Sounds like Dabo is perfect for us.

Excatly. He's not going anywhere. The Bama fans would eat him alive. No way he replaces Saban. He's the best thing that ever happened to Clemson.

Say it enough and maybe you'll convince yourself and Clemson fans, but most Bama fans know if he's offered the job (needs to be 4 years from now or later to be certain), that he's highly likely to take it.

I'm a Bama fan. He's not coming here to try to live up the expectations and legacy of Bear and Saban. He is the Bear and Saban to Clemson. He could lose several games there and they'd still worship him. If he goes 8-5 at Bama two years in a row, they'll burn him in effigy. Just accept it now and you won't be sad later.

UT and Arkansas aren't content with 8-5, but I'm sure because Dabo is a Bama boy that it'd be okay at Bama.

You think Dabo would go 8-5 at Alabama?

Since he took over at Clemson his record is 93-28. Since he got his first 3 full recruiting classes at Clemson he is 74-13.

He'd be walking into a literal gold mine at Alabama compared to what he walked into at Clemson back in 2008.

After a while he would. You guys are gonna be so heartbroken when he turns Bama down. And all the SEC fans will be laughing and I'll just say I told you so.

I am Rorshach.

Yeah...I don't see why he would want to leave for Bama (that is not a knock on Bama). Clemson is starting to have some of the top facilities, recruits top talent, and plays in a conference where their conference schedule is not as demanding as other conferences. He has built that program bigger than Danny Ford could have and will eventually become the greatest coach they ever had. I know he is a Bama guy but why leave Clemson when he will be the greatest coach ever to maybe being the 3rd best ever at Alabama?

If only there was precedent to prove this wrong.

Oh, wait, there is.

His name was Paul "Bear" Bryant.

He left Texas A&M for Alabama knowing he was going to have to live up to Wallace Wade and Frank Thomas.

When "momma" calls Dabo will come running.

Let me see:

Be considered the greatest coach ever at Clemson

or

Be mentioned as one of the greatest at Alabama along side names like the Bear and Saban.

I think I would go with the latter. No matter what he does at Clemson it will never compare nationally to what one could do at a traditional powerhouse like Alabama, Notre Dame, USC, etc. Just saying

You should have highlighted the part at the end, not the part where he was being sarcastic and having fun with the reporters. Clemson fans could never hate a coach that keeps taking us to the playoffs and reeling in 5* recruits and beating the top programs in the country

Yeah...they should never hate but what will the mindset be if Clemson starts having a few years where they don't win the ACC or make the playoffs? Success spoils fans, boosters, alumni, etc. Dabo has raised the expectations at Clemson and a couple of down years won't be doom or gloom for him but the mindset of the fans now is playoffs or bust. Enjoy the ride because you never know what will change or when it will end.
