I'm special? Does your coonass not understand that Baylor/TCU deserves to have a shot at the Title? Do I think they'd win? No, but they deserve their shot for winning the Big 12. With a 4 team playoff they don't get that chance. Maybe if you'd put more effort into understanding that than trying to talk shite it wouldn't be so hard for you to comprehend.

Oh, so it IS about being fair and making sure no one gets their feelings hurt and everybody gets to play.

And I thought it was about being the best by beating the best.

If you don't think they will win, they don't belong there.

But...

You're just a big ole softy.

Has anyone in the playoff played TCU/Baylor? Didn't think so. So how do you know they wouldn't win? You're saying the Big 12 champ isn't the best of the best? Please share more of your football knowledge with us..

And I bet you didn't think we'd beat you in '09 but we did? If we left people out because of what we think instead of looking at their body of work there wouldn't be a point in playing the games. Like I said, keep sharing your football knowledge..

Haha no, we don't.

You said that.

You're the one that brought it up.

Sorry that whatever talking point you picked up from the BIG12 rep on ESPN this morning isn't really going over as well as you thought it would.

Maybe you should think things through before you post next time and arrive at your own conclusions.

I brought what up? That I think they wouldn't win? I don't. Doesn't change the fact they deserve to have a shot. If you think TCU/Baylor doesn't belong then you're a fricking idiot. Plain and simple.

I agree...no. add another layer to the playoffs and the regular season don't mean near as much. Will get to the point where two and three loss teams can get in.

Yes, and the amount of people that will bitch increases exponentially with each expansion.

More teams can make a claim to being in the top 8 than the top 4. But go ahead and expand. It will solve all the problems. Don't see how it could go wrong.

Make the winners of the power 5 conferences an automatic qualifier and sees them by their ranking. That leaves 3 spot as "wild cards". Highest ranked teams, outside of the conference winners go.

6 or 8 game playoff system is the only way to do it. The present four team "playoff" system process is illogical and flawed to the point of absurdity. ... Even the BCS selection method is better - more objective & unbiased, using thorough, concrete data - until a legitimate 6 or 8 team playoff method, which includes all major conference champions as well as "wild cards" or schools from non-major division 1A conferences who might have an undefeated season, is implemented. Without a doubt, this method is the most rational, impartial, accurate, and valid way of determining the teams most deserving of a playoff spot as well as the national champion.

To minimize the risk of injury, cutting 2 regular season OOC games would be required, but is worth it if the true intent is to have a fair playoff system to determine a national champion. Also, ten game regular seasons are nothing new; it was the norm for many, many years. ... Bowls can be incorporated into this system as well.

As long as the 4 team "playoff" system is in practice, the process will continue to be unmitigated, unreasonable, biased bullshite.

You guys will get what you want. There's too much money involved not to go to eight...and then sixteen.

I thought the playoff idea was stupid to begin with. Adding the "Committee" instead of using the existing BCS formula just compounded the stupidity.

I don't like it now, I won't like it in the future and I think it will have an overall negative effect on college football.

But it's what the people wanted...I guess.

Yes. 4 is enough. deciding numbers 7-9 would be a mess.

Do you really think its about deciding who's the best team? That's bullshite. "Best team" is all relative. It's the best team that day. "Best teams" often do no win titles. 18-0 Patriots lose to the Giants, Phi Slamma Jamma, USA basketball getting jobbed by USSR.

This shite is entertainment. It's not real life or death. Some of you old coonass historians have no clue that the people make or break the sport. Look at baseball, old farts trying to hang onto traditions while the world passes them by. Get with the times.

They can't go beyond 8 teams, and really that is too many unless the regular season is cut by an OOC game or 2, which is why 6 teams would be better to limit the risk of injuries. You can't put undue risk on young players, not to mention, they are attending school; they're not professionals. ... This is the most objective, impartial way of determining who gets into the playoffs and ultimately who wins the national championship - something the players who I know want to happen - and has nothing to do with money. It's a way to get away from all of that.

Having the major conference champions plus a couple of wild cards in the playoffs is the fairest method. It is about as objective of a method as possible. I don't have a problem with using the BCS formula to rank the teams in the playoffs & the wild card teams.

How is having the most logical, unbiased method of determining the best team in NCAA football bad for the game? It is the least flawed, most black & white, logical system. Win your conference, go to the playoffs. Use the BCS formula for rankings & picking "wild card" teams. Play head-to-head until you lose, or not. Isn't that the huge gripe? Teams not being judged on the field? Well, they are, literally, with a legitimate playoff system.

But it's what the people wanted...I guess.

Most fans and players of any sport want an objective, unbiased, fair, unflawed method of deciding "the best." In most sports, that means going head-to-head as much as possible, and there is some form of playoff system in pretty much every sport, professional, collegiate, & high school, except NCAA Division 1A football. Funny thing is, out of all of those sports & divisions who have a playoff system, none of them seem to be having an issue with it. The only one without a legitimate playoff system is the only one having problems.
