He is saying that the NCAA knows the bagman for Newton, yet he is going to tell the NCAA the bagman they already know? Yeah, think I'll hit the snooze button on this story.

Kind of doesn't make sense being as what little I know of it, Sheridan claimed that his source was that of a retired NCAA official. One might draw the conclusion that if a retired NCAA official knew of it, then that person probably got the info from within the NCAA.

No he didn't. He has claimed his source came from the NCAA. He also claims he has many longtime contacts and friends with in the organization.. and that's his problem, his claims change every time he opens his trap.
I wonder how long it will take for him to tell Mark E to put his money where his mouth is and put up 7 figures that he doesn't know the bagman.

My feeling on this is that if he did in fact have evidence he would have already gone to the NCAA and given it to them. Odds are that Danny is just working on rumors rather than facts.

This is weird. If the NCAA actually has a name, then they would only want to talk to him about the leak. If they don't, then I cannot imagine what they want to talk to him about. Emmert's comment the other day "If someone has that information, we'd love to talk to them" suggested that they didn't have the name of the bagman. I dunno...but my feeling is that if he made it up and the NCAA had no bagman info to be leaked, then they would have nothing to talk to DS about.

This. If danny didn't tell us a couple weeks ago becuase he was worried about someones livelyhood what sense does it make to go to said persons boss and say they're leaking information. Same result. If saying it on the radio would have got that person fired, then so will telling the boss.

DS painted himself in a corner with his NCAA connections, and now is going to have a hard time get out of it. Key points:
1.Why would the NCAA talk to him about info they already have ?
2. If DS is protecting his source from losing his job, why talk to the NCAA ? If they have the information it will only help find the source.
3. If the NCAA doesn't know who the bagman or the witness Danny is referring to on Finebaum, why haven't they been contacted by these same sources ?
The key to all of this is who has been feeding information to Sheridan ? Either Danny is lying or is being lied to by a friend that convinced him the information came from the NCAA.
