If you have the money, then throwing money at a problem works.

Why does Bama still suck at basketball or do something about it. Is the old money drying up.

Coleman isn't the problem.
Posted on 3/22/15 at 3:41 pm to pvilleguru
It is part of the problem.

We just built one of the nicest practice facilities in the nation a few years ago, upgraded everything and we'll probably drop at leat $3 mil/year on a new coach.

Not when it comes to the product on the floor.

The problem is you guys are saying the problem was the coach. Maybe the other part of the problem.

Not to mention that Alabama was among the top 15 in the country in basketball profit for this past season. And this happened without a NCAA tournament appearance.
If a quality coach is hired, success can be had. The administration and fanbase doesn't expect national tiltles. But consistent tournament appearances should be the goal.
While Coleman needs at least another facelift, it's not the "pit" some want to portray. The other important infrastructure for basketball is there and very new. Coleman had more than $20 million in updates in 2006, so a new arena isn't practical for some time to come. But again, I don't think the arena is a pit fall for a good coach.

The practice facility was done around 2010.

Yes. It was a commitment from the UA administration to AG when he was hired.

Sorry but get a new coach and upgrade that highschoolwhere you play home games. Then you guys will be great.

Like I said. Another facelift is needed. But it's not fiscally possibly to sink $20-30 million into Coleman just 9 years ago, build a $3 million practice facility in 2010, and then raze it all to build an entire new arena because everyone else has. Alabama just got caught up on the wrong end of the arms race in basketball facilities.
