Honestly if they could get the parking/tailgating/rv stuff figured out for having the games at Regions Field downtown that would be awesome. I doubt it is doable though.

Too small, along with most of the other AA parks that are new and cool.

Jackson When I was at umc we would go for "thirsty Thursday" and the governors cup, but there is no way they should ever host the tourney in Jackson.

Fine but it's time to at least consider hosting the SEC Championship game at Veterans Memorial Stadium

There's a rumor floating around town that Chattanooga is going to submit a bid, too.

I'd go if it were in Nashville, but I'd love for it to be in my backyard.

Wouldn't mind it being in Nashville, but man I still like the Met.

Fine... Pearl instead of Jackson ;)

Pearl is already under contract to host the CUSA or AAC Baseball Tourney for the next few years ... I honestly cant even keep up with what schools are those 2 conferences anymore ... I really want Autozone to make a bid... But sadly , Memphis won't get much consideration due to the lack of RV parking.

Never happen. AT&T only seats 6,300, the Hoover Met seats 10,800.

Hoover Met - 10,800
Cool Ray Field (Gwinnett - Metro Atlanta) - 10,427
First Tennessee Park (Nashville) - 10,000
Autozone Park (Memphis) - 10,000
Zephyr Field (New Orleans) - 10,000
Regions Field (Birmingham) - 8,500
Trustman Park (Jackson) - 8,480
Smokies Stadium (Sevierville/Knoxville) - 6,412
AT&T Field (Chattanooga) - 6,362
MGM Park (Biloxi) - 6,076
Blue Wahoos Stadium (Pensacola) - 5,038

The only stadiums that will be considered are the AAA stadiums. The Southern League has a bunch of awesome stadiums, but they aren't going to move the tournament to a play in a park that has 80% or less capacity of Hoover.

It's something they've definitely earned. Plus I'm all about dolla dolla bills coming into the state even if the returns are smaller than other tourneys.

The NCAA rewards schools that do well and have the facilities so why not reward Nashville? (BTW, I have no clue if it would be on Vandy's campus or not but am assuming no but even if it were I wouldn't have a problem). Again, they've earned it and Nashville is a great location with plenty of lodging, an easy drive from almost anywhere OR and easy flight. Hard to beat that.

Didn't say it would. Just that it was floated on SportTalk last week when the Lookouts rep was on the air.

Chattanooga is also a great venue. The city has really invested and it's paid off. I don't care for CBB but that would be a fantastic trip.

Found the attendance and despite setting records in 2015 only 7,998 showed up for today's championship game between Vanderbilt and Florida. While it's a step down attendance wise if the numbers hold for attendees in general I can see the stadium there expanding. Even if it remains the same, I don't see it as a major hurdle just one of many.

That said, I doubt Chattanooga has a real chance.

And I bet that was the lowest attendance Championship game in years. Two non-existent baseball fanbases. 75% of the crowd were locals just there because they always go.

If Ole Miss, Alabama, Mississippi State, Auburn, LSU are still playing on the last day (and chances are high that at least 1 of those, particularly LSU, will be) then the place will be packed.

80% less capacity than Hoover

I can see you're point but let's remember the average attendence
was about 7,700 for Hoover last year (which set a record) but I
do think the cut off should be around 8k for capacity.

Nashville and Gwinnett would be the obvoius top choices just becuase
of the population and SEC alumni base draw to from and the infrastructure to support it.

Sorry, the Memphis stadium does like a nice facility but not sure about
the infrastructure and the fact that I really don't think Memphis is a destination
folks want to follow their team to.

But on Saturday and Sunday, in 90% of years, they have sold out houses (as long as LSU, Alabama, Auburn, State or Ole Miss are involved). They won't leave to move somewhere where they lose those 10,000 seats over 2.5 days.

I wish they would do it at the neater stadiums, but they won't.

I would give Nashville the basketball tournament every year, no need to rotate it every 3 years. The football game should stay in Atlanta. Thus, the baseball tournament should NOT be in either Atlanta area or Nashville. I would put it in New Orleans, Memphis or Hoover.
