Hoover is the best place for it logistically. The coaches even say Hoover has it down to a science. Kind of like going to Atlanta for football. You kind of look forward to it every year if you're a team.

Besides the fact that Regions Park is situated in a wealthy neighborhood in one of the wealthy 'Over The Mountain' suburbs with a very high density of retail and restaurants.

Same here. NOLA or Memphis too. All better options than Birmingham annually.

Correct

I didn't think we had officially bid yet, but were planning to, before the deadline on the 28th.

New Sounds stadium is such a great venue. Obviously would love for this to happen being in middle Tennessee.

If anything, Nashville is a fairly neutral ground. I don't think there would be a pronounced vandy favoritism there.

When I was at umc we would go for "thirsty Thursday" and the governors cup, but there is no way they should ever host the tourney in Jackson.

Nashvile would be a Huge upgrade. Having the tournament in Hoover every year really sux.

Really wish it would be rotated to major SEC cities:

NOLA/Dallas/Houston/Memphis/Nashville/Atlanta/Orlando/St. Louis/

Hoover? No.

Honestly if they could get the parking/tailgating/rv stuff figured out for having the games at Regions Field downtown that would be awesome. I doubt it is doable though.

I suspect we will see a rotation between Nashville, Memphis, NOLA, suburban Atlanta, Orlando or Jacksonville and Biloxi or Jackson pretty soon.

If Nashville gets it, it will be there for at least 5 straight years. No rotation, especially a rotation as odd as the one you listed.

The folks in Hoover have not done a good job upgrading the park and keeping it at the same level as other parks in the southeast. I see no reason why it should stay there. Hopefully Regions Field will put in a bid during this process; it is a much better option for the Bham area.

Meh. It's pretty generic and sterile to me. Memphis, on the other hand, has a phenomenal stadium for a Minor League team. I'm for getting the tournament out of Hoover though.

Still like the idea of having it in Bayfront Stadium in Pensacola.Great facilty
and a semi central location.Who the hell wouldn't want to go to Pensacola?

I'm all for getting it the hell out of Hoover whatever they decide.

- Basketball should rotate between Nashville, Atlanta (but be at Philips, not the Dome), New Orleans and Memphis
- Baseball should rotate between Nashville, Gwinnett, Hoover, Memphis (maybe Texas)
- Football stays in Atlanta

The problem with most of the new Southern League (AA) ballparks is they aren't big enough.

Chattanooga, Birmingham, Pensacola, Biloxi, Jackson all have great new ballparks, but they are all much smaller than the Met is, and they sell out the Met a lot towards the end of the tournament. They aren't going to take an even that sells a ton of tickets and downsize it for the same reason they wouldn't have the SEC Basketball Tournament at Philips Arena instead of the Dome even though it would be much, much better there.
