Yeah that's what happens when your team gets repeatedly clowned by Bama.

There are a lot of Alabama people in Northwest Georgia. Always have been. Not that this guy is one of those, but Rome/Cedartown area has always had tons of Bammers. My wife lived with one in college.

2-4) This past basketball season, Losing to Stony Brook in the Super Regionals, our governor threatening to close LSU so that he can raise taxes

I'm sure there is another one thats older or that I'm just forgetting.

Alot of people in local media talked about how embarrassing the "frick you saban" chant was in 2014. I was not one of those people that was embarrassed.

Wrong link first time.

At least 3 UGA fans saying to move the game in that thread. Some of the saddest shite I've ever read.

Yeah. Once, we pissed off the Klan. So they protested us. And we ran them off campus for doing so. Thanks for your insight.

What's the latest update on those three Aggie figs who threw a dog into their 4-way, and ended up fricking it to death?

it's quite clear that they are only fans because they're winning.

they're probably still fans when they are not winning it's just they don't talk about it or show it. it isn't that important to them if they are not winning. I've seen this with fans of countless other schools. trust me, there are thousands of latent Penn State fans out there. they start competing for natties again and there will be flags sprouting up all over the place

This is like shooting fish in a barrel.

I give you... Petrino's bike crash/John L. Smith "Smile!"

That's just in the last couple of years mind you.

Youre completely assuming this. I mean if you went to high school with Montravius Adams does that mean you have to be a au fan?

You mentioned he went to HS with Nick Chubb as if that meant he had to be UGA fan or perhaps that was apropos of nothing.

You're combining 2 separate thoughts.

As for the guy I spoke with today, no of course he doesn't HAVE to be a UGA fan simply because chubb went there. Obviously. But he has no familial ties to alabama, he didn't attend school there, he's in his early 20s (ie, it's not like he's been watching them for 40 years through thick and thin), lives in Georgia, and has a natural "in" to be a UGA fan. Yet, he's a bama fan. I have no idea WHY he is, but I'm pretty sure my guess would be accurate.

why? I've crossed off most of the biggies that would make someone a fan. So the only options left we have are:

-he has friends that like bama so he does too
-he thought about going there but didn't but still likes them
-he likes the colors/campus/mascot/something else about the school

-or, around the time he started really getting into CFB coincides with their current historic 8 year run.

I alreayd said it's not possible to KNOW why he's a "roll tide", but you'd be foolish based on context clues to think that "because they're good" isn't the leading candidate.

Most of the bama fans I see on a daily basis probably have no clue what happened in bama athletics during this time period. In any sport.

As a kid living in central Florida, constantly hearing from Gator fans about how Bama was dead and never coming back, I remember all too well.

Basically a minor civil war amongst the cadet corps that was more embarrassing than the dog incident already mentioned because it lasted almost a full academic year.
