but talent wise you're still behind the 8 ball against 5 of the teams you play next year. I know talent isn't everything, but you have to look at it in all ways.

Gotta have those recruiting rankings...

I'm probably one of the most unbiased Ole Miss fans you'll ever meet because I didn't grow up an Ole Miss fan, I didn't grow up hating state. I'm simply just giving my honest opinion.

Now as for this season depending on how LSU and Auburn finish up their season, I think y'all have a ceiling of 2nd in the West. It's hard to tell off of one win against an SEC team, the next two games will tell us a lot about MSST.

That regent didn't do them any favors by shooting his mouth off via social media, though.

I'd rather my school be known as a stepping-stone than a coach killer

I do think we could have Mullen if we wanted him, but I don't think we want him. State is great this year, and he deserves full credit for that, but he's only had one winning season in the SEC in 8 years at State.

I'd rather have Mike Gundy or an up-and-comer like Morris.

I don't. To each his own though.

State fan and I actually agree that the hype is coming out a tad early. We have no idea how good LSU actually is and they were extremely undisciplined.

I do think we are pretty solid but the next two weeks as you said will tell us a lot more about this team moving forward.

So you are in a wait and see approach for this year... but ready to predict our schedule to a tee for 2018?

I grew up watching LSU football and that's the worst game I've ever witnessed them play, State also showed up to play and I think LSU thought they were just going to walk in there and win because of the name on their jersey. I think that's what happens when you have a lot of young guys starting and thinking they are the shite because they are true freshman starting at a historic powerhouse such as LSU.

I'll admit, I personally thought LSU was going to roll last weekend. State is not a bad team clearly, you just don't get lucky and beat LSU by 30 I don't care who the coach is.

Yea but it's Mississippi State. They may be good but they will still be a two+ score underdog to Alabama.

Hence, reaching his ceiling

He didn't. He is known as a jack arse in his professional realm as well. I'm sure you could find some of the same from prominent LSU supporters regarding Les. I imagine it's frustrating to see the downward spiral of the A&M program since Manziel if you're heavily invested (emotionally/financially) in the football program. Someone who has taken a program with far less plusses to relevancy could easily turn A&M into a force.

That's what I was trying to say, they will always be underdogs to be big boys of this conference. Not trying to be disrespectful, it just is what it is.

I looked at y'alls schedule next year based off the one game you played this year.

Being underdogs is one thing. Thats fine, we know we aren't Bama. Saying 10-3 with a bowl loss is his ceiling is what you said. You're on drugs if you think he couldn't pass that this year. Not to say he will, but it's certainly possible with the team he assembled.

I am sure you were saying the same about Freeze when he was winning?

PorkRoast why do you always play the game these alts want you to play? He is playing you like a fiddle and having you defend yourself. All these alts come here and same people fall for it over and over.

Do not want. In 9 years he never beat a team that finished with 10 or more wins.

dude, the only reason I'm an Ole Miss fan is because I goto school here, so yes I'm very realistic when it comes to Ole Miss football. They will never be favored over the big boys of the conference, people may have thought they would win but Vegas always went with the "Big 6"

True, I shouldn't expect someone with the name "SheaForHeisman" to be a rational poster. You're right.
