That's fine if he is. Even if he actually did leave, we'll just take Sumlin. It's clearly easier to compete in the West at Mississippi State.

What ceiling is that?

Heisman Trophy Contender (should have won), #1 ranking in the country, 10-3 record (losing 3/4), No SEC Championship, No National Championship, No Bowl Game Victory.

The best season Mississippi State will ever have resulted in zero hardware, I'm not trying to be a dick, just shooting it straight. I'd say the same about Ole Miss if the roles were flipped.

I look forward to your thoughts at the end of this year... Next season is setting up to be the best team Mississippi State has ever had from a talent and coaching perspective.

I just don't see him leaving. Makes a lot of money. Administration is good to him. Fans have reasonable expectations. Family is entrenched in Starkville.

Mullen will have his best team at State next year.

possibly, but y'all don't get LSU early next year. Alabama will be Alabama, LSU will be vastly improved (young everywhere), Auburn will be good, Arkansas will be shite and so will ole miss, Texas A&M who knows.

I still don't see y'all higher that 4th in the SEC West.

The only job Mullen has ever been interested in is the Penn State job. Trust me on this. In the meantime, he is making almost 5 million a year and is not going anywhere. Give it a rest. Every damn year this same crap comes out how he is leaving to go here or there. He will be back at Msu again next year as usual.

Look brother, Dak isn't walking through that door. You may be right though, I guess we will see.

Sept. 1 Stephen F. Austin

Sept. 8 at Kansas State

Sept. 15 Louisiana-Lafayette

Sept. 22 at Kentucky - Toss Up

Sept. 29 Florida - Toss Up

Oct. 6 Auburn

Oct. 20 at LSU

Oct. 27 Texas A&M

Nov. 3 Louisiana Tech

Nov. 10 at Alabama

Nov. 17 Arkansas

Nov. 22 at Ole Miss

I see y'all at a likely 7-5 season with your ceiling being 9 wins. You're not beating LSU at home they will embarrass you after what happened this year, you're not beating Alabama, as for Auburn they always shite the bed against State so I could see y'all pulling that win out your arse to get you to a ceiling of 10 wins.

That trip to KSU may be tricky as well. 9 wins ceiling, with 10 being a miracle, that's my honest opinion.

If A&M was a sleeping giant, they would actually be competitive by now. Their boosters are more of the problem than Sumlin.

He was poking at my comment on the first page I reckon.

But I think you meant 60 instead of 6.

Aggies- I'm tired of playing 'you're gonna win', 'no you're gonna win' this week. Bring it.

I think aTm is a step up from State just because of their resources, but I don't see any way Mullen takes that job

I don't think Dan jumps ship for another team in SEC West. But people are dumb as shite if they don't think that A&M is a step up from all but a handful of schools. Resources, facilities, and recruiting area make it a very choice spot. Add in the downturn of the other programs in the state and you have all the makings of a program that can compete for championships every single year.

I wouldn't expect an Ole Miss fan to. You probably don't see us higher than 4th this year.

A TE playing QB, what good would that do?

That may be true my man, but talent wise you're still behind the 8 ball against 5 of the teams you play next year. I know talent isn't everything, but you have to look at it in all ways.

Dan Mullen hired Jimmy Sexton last year. Sexton needs to make himself some money. Clearly he's the source.

It seems like every year he was at Auburn Tuberville's name would be "leaked" as a top candidate for 1. pick a school 2. pick another school.

It got old . That is a signature Sexton script.
