There are way more than chains available in Starkville. You just don't look for them apparently.

I'd risk seafood from Starkvegas over Knoxville any day.

Hillfolk don't know what to do with Cobia anyway. They probably freeze it and then fry it the next month.

shite, Knoxville does a nice ginger glazed Mahi Mahi like no one else. Or if it's seared scallops with a jalapeño vinaigrette you crave, Knoxville got you.

I lived there for 3 years.

There's a reason Mugshots ranks as the #2 restaurant in Starkville on Trip Advisor.

It mostly sucked from 1997-2007. But Alabama still has titles in 1978,1979,1992, 2009,2011,and 2012 for the time frame referenced. The rest have 11 combined. That's not bad.

You sure you lived there?

Little Dooey vs. Deweys

Two different spots?

Restaurant Tyler?
Cafe Starkville?
The Verandah?
Central Staion Grill?
Oby's?

Any of those in your rotation?

I didn't say it was hard to grasp.

And I didn't say you did.

It's pretty crazy to consider...

I assume Steele started in 75 because that's when scholarship limits were put into place.

Edit: Alabama would be #4 if not for all their forfeited/vacated wins: https://www.cfbtrivia.com/cfbt_percent.php?fromyear=1975&thruyear=2014&tIA=on&sortby=Wins&desc=on&cres=1

Yet Bama has as many NC's during that period as the rest of the SEC COMBINED.

Not to mention The Bin, Bulldog Deli, Zorbas, ect. Starkville isn't the best, but people on here make it out to be way worse than it is.

Nah, just misspelled it trying to sound it out in my stupid head.

None of those are anything special that Knoxville wouldn't have something on par with. The only one of those I haven't eat at is Cafe Starkville.

The Veranda was my favorite of the group. The rest are decent restaurants, the likes of which can be found in any college town. Harvey's was decent, too. Bin 612 is okay.

I think the main difference is going to be the available options. That's a pretty short list of decent to good non-chain restaurants.

It's a small town. The best part about it, no UT fans.

There is only one SEC team in the top 8. That says a lot about how tough our conference has been the last 40 years.

While I agree with this, I think it also reveals that overall SEC dominance has been a relatively recent phenomenon. And since SEC country has always contained a wealth of top recruits, it also suggests that getting top coaches in the SEC has been significant.

You've gotten a total of 2 players out of Tennessee in the past 3 years. Not really impressive

TN rarely has much to offer that we can't get elsewhere. When we do pursue guys from there, they're typically 4 or 5 star recruits (Sheldon Dawson, Marlon Brown, Van Jefferson, Austin Long, etc.)

I disagree. You can be a great academic university AND win national championships consistently. Look at UF.

sounds wrong

florida has 96, 06, 08
lsu has 03, 07
tennessee has 98
uga has 81
auburn has 10

I'll still never understand the logic of alabama getting a split 78 championship with USC after losing at home to them. USC had a better record, beat them at home by ten points, and played a harder schedule. Just one of those opinion poll results I guess. Before last year tOSU never would have gotten a shot
