A few more. Charlie Conerly Ole Miss QB who won a few world football championships for the Giants was the Marlboro Man. He is also the uncle of Jimbo Mathus from the critically acclaimed band, squirrel nut zippers.
Jim Weatherly Ole Miss QB member of the undefeated 62 and SEC Champ teams from 62-64 wrote Midnight train to Georgia.

The experts say Frank Thomas is the first and only SEC product in the hall of fame. Sorry bud, but you're wrong here.
Except for Joe Sewell.

Nope sorry. From the official SEC website: LINK

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. -- Former Auburn star Frank Thomas became the first Auburn player and first former Southeastern Conference baseball player to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday.
The SEC itself has spoken on the matter, and nowhere did they mention anybody but Frank Thomas. Can't argue with that.

Btw, this reminds me of a fact about my SEC team
Auburn is the only SEC school with pro Hall of Famers in football, basketball, and baseball.
Football: Frank Gatski and Kevin Greene
Basketball: Charles Barkley
Baseball: Frank Thomas

Our Football team almost boycotted a game over a hoax.

Not really that surprising given that natural ball players go straight into the leagues system.
UT could have one added in here in a few yrs with Helton.

Technically, Joe was part of the SIAA, not the SEC. It depends on how the statement is worded.
If you say, "The only HoF product of the SEC", then that is Frank Thomas, as he is the only person to have played for one of the SEC schools during their membership in the SEC.
If you say, "The only HoF player ever from a member of the SEC", then that would be incorrect as it doesn't state that the player had to play in the SEC.
It does appear that Sewell is the only other player that could be named in the second version, but I could be missing some players.

Will Clark and palmero aren't in the hof?
Posted on 6/29/17 at 1:49 am to vengeanceofrain
Clark's numbers aren't close to good enough and Palmeiro was a roid head (an embodiment of the MSU AD, cheating with nothing to show), and they aren't voting anybody associated with roids in.

Arkansas football has produced NFL Hall of Fame coaches, players, and an announcer. Interesting combination IMO.
NFL Hall of Fame Announcer: Pat Summerall
NFL Hall of Fame Owner: Jerry Jones
NFL Hall of Fame Players: Dan Hampton, Lance Alworth(waiting on Steve Atwater)
Two of the three coaches who have won D1 National Titles and Super Bowl titles are alums of The University of Arkansas. All 3 of those coaches have Arkansas ties.
Class of 1960: Barry Switzer(74, 75, 85 Nat'l Champ)(Super Bowl XXX)
Class of 1964: Jimmy Johnson(87 Nat'l Cham)(Super Bowls XXVII & XXVIII)
1977 Grad Assistant: Pete Carroll(03 AP, 04 Nat'l Champ)(Super Bowl XLVIII)

1896?—Auburn-Georgia Tech game as the 2nd best prank in college sports history.
quote:LINK
The buzz, as it were, was that the coach-less team from Georgia was hitting town by train in the wee, gameday morning hours. And so unknown number of Auburn cadets decided to welcome the team by literally greasing the rails for an Auburn victory, conspiring under an Alabama midnight only two days removed from a new moon to coat more than 400 yards worth of rails on either side of the train station with pig grease and lard and soap. The result: an unstoppable, brake-less slide past Auburn half-way to Loachapoka, nearly five miles. Total Second Best College Sport Prank Ever success. (Did second year Auburn coach John Heisman have anything to do with it? Who can say—but legend has it that he had a pretty good view, sipping lemonade through laughs atop the recently opened Toomer’s Drugs.)

Florida is the only school that has won NC in Baseball, Football and Basketball. Only two other schools have won NCs in 2 of the 3. LSU (baseball, football) & Georgia (baseball, football). No other SEC school has won a NC in more than one of the Big 3 Men's sports.

LSU, somehow, is the only other SEC school to have a number one pick in the NBA draft besides from Kentucky (both schools have 2)
