Now Montavious Adams has been an overrated bust. The hype oh the kid was unreal. It just goes to show what happens when you get a highly recruited player from a very small division
No. He's shown the talent is there. Motor and frankly just shitty defenses has hindered his performances, however bust is not accurate. I'm not sure what type of "unreal" hype he had you are referring to. It wasn't like Clowney or anything coming int o his freshman year. He had about the same hype as most 5* DT freshmen.

Oh, easily that defensive end from aTm that's playing right now. Miles Davis, or whatever his name is.
Bum didn't do shite against Arkansas last year. And since I only watch Arkansas games, that's all I care about.
your OC must have been thinking the same thing when he let kirkland single cover him on the last drive.

Jevan Snead anyone?
He was hyped up to "1st QB off the board" levels in '09. Then Sandstorm happened.

Defenses planned AROUND Clowney. Clowney was double teamed every play.
Is it any coincidence that our defense sucked as soon he left?
The only one who could defend Clowney one on one was Tiny Richardson and it's a damn shame his body broke down before he could play in the NFL.
That said, offenses plan around edge rushers all the time and the good ones get double teamed and held just ask Derek Barnett.

Robert Nkemdiche
Terrence Cody
First that come to mind. OP list is pretty bad, all those guys produced in college quite a bit. Some of them didn't even have massive hype. Nkemdiche and Cody though were hyped beyond belief their whole careers and never even put up 1 remarkable season.

I would think Da'Shawn Hand over either of those guys. Hand was a 5* DE, #1 or #5 Overall and hasn't made any All SEC post season list even. Maybe this will be his year, but time is running out.

Nothing overrated about him. He was that good. His problem is that he was also just that immature.

Psst, you realize the depth recently? Of course not.

You obvoiusly don't.Why not any '13 highlights?
He mailed it in '13 and for that reason alone he makes the list.

Cody. Come again?
Had 0.5 sack and like 1 FF in 2 seasons, never broke 30 tackles in either season at Bama. But hey, he was huge, so every game he was massively overhyped. He did his job well enough, but he wasn't some playmaker. Bama has had better 3-4 NTs.
Also, not that im strictly basing my list off NFL as well, but he flamed out of the NFL pretty quick too. Never had a sack or FF in 4 seasons in the NFL, only had 1 year over 25 tackles (34).

Naive. Cody was a game changer on the line much like Dorsey. Glenn's best games were not necessarily his best statistically.

They called him, "the next Clowney" https://athlonsports.com/high-school/dashawn-hand-next-jadeveon-clowney
But Hand wasn't a FR All American or even Fr All SEC like Clowney was.

He was overhyped, he commanded some double teams but the elite DLinemen always do that, AND STILL produce statistically.
Like I said, Bama has had better 3-4 NTs (A'Shawn Robinson, for reference). If Cody was so great, he also wouldnt have likely flamed out of the NFL like he did. Its not like he was injury hampered or ever in trouble with the law, he was just way way overhyped.

Clowney wins this "hand"s down. Not even a close runner-up.

You can say a lot about him, but there are few college quarterbacks who have him out skilled. He went to a Sugar Bowl. He was a great college quarterback
