This.

Its the same as LSU making Arkansas their superbowl because they got to play us on a national stage during our time slot on Fridays.

Mizzou will soon replace LSU in this regard.

It's so cute that Mizzou gets to play in the east where they don't have to worry about the other 6 teams in their division skull fricking them on an annual basis.

You have 7 teams in your division, and you're telling me you have only a realistic shot of winning one of the 7.

You beat Troy, Alcorn State, Bowling Green (By 1), Kentucky (By 6), Arkansas (In OT by 7), Ole Miss (In OT by 7). I'm sorry but you will be doing no skull fricking.

ask alabama fans how they feel about tennessee. no, they may not respect tennessee's program right now, but there is still plenty of hate for tennessee. they didn't bring 40k people to knoxville the past few games there for just another game. no, the rivalry has not been the big game it was every year before tennessee's downfall that began in 2008, but there has been no change in both schools' hate for one another, outside the college aged crowd and younger.

i guess he thinks teams can't be rivals unless everyone in the country cares about the game. using that logic, i don't care about the ohio state michigan game, so it must not be a real rivalry. with ohio state's only loss in 10 years being when they were on probation in 2011, it must not be much of a rivalry anymore

The Egg Bowl The truth is nobody outside the state of Mississippi refers to this as a rivalry game.

If that is the case, how is it overhyped?

Not only do you think this is a rivalry but you think it is actually hyped as one.

Propose to rename it the "Battle for Bowl Eligibility" game. Traditionally the winner becomes bowl eligible in the final game of the season, and the looser waits until next season to play for bowl eligibility again.

Better idea, make the winner bowl eligible and relegate the loser to C-USA.

How is it an overhyped rivalry when it has featured 2 of the best games 4 years apart, in the last 3 decades

My favorite current SEC rivalries:

1.Auburn/Alabama for obvious reasons
2. UGA/USC because of OBC
3. Florida/UGA because UGA started winning some
4. The Egg Bowl because it's just fun to watch
5. LSU/A&M because I'm hoping it takes off
6. Mizzou/Arky because it has so much potential

Gone but not forgotten:

1. Tennessee/Bama
2. Arky/LSU
3. Florida/Tennessee
4. Ole Miss/Arky

No one knows, it was similar to the Mizzou/KU game where each fan base had dumb nick names for the other like "Beakers", but other than that it is unclear if an actually rivalry existed.

these are not historical rivalries. shite ole miss/arkansas isn't considered a rivalry by anyone that i'm aware of. don't let the sec rant confuse you. it's just another sec west game for most people.

gone but not forgotten should include games like Ole Miss/LSU

2. UGA/USC because of OBC

not viewed a rivalry by anyone or either fan base, and what does spurrier have to do with it? because he likes making jabs at georgia? he's made jabs at alabama and florida (recently) too
