Than why do you think Mizzou was selected for the SEC?

Based on wins sir. 9th best in the nation. 48 wins over 5 years.

Wow that is impressive. How many conference and national titles are in those 48 wins? What about BCS Bowl victories?

Serious question, what is it, from your perspective, that Mizzou adds to the conference. No flame. I'm just interested in how you guys see it.

The fact is in the statement itself. The have been One of the best teams in the past 5 years. If you take all division's of football, total all the wins, and take the bottom 55 divide by 2, round to the nearest 10th and subtract 25, than Mizzou would be near the middle of a 120 team scale which translate to one of the best teams in the past 5 years.

What a joke.

Beating a #1 ranked team, being ranked #1, beating TX, destroying Nebraska, killing Arkansas... but yeah we woulda been in the middle of 120 teams over the last 5 years.

Zero and zero. They haven't even been to a BCS bowl in those 48 wins.

Didn't most of this happen in one single year? I didn't pay any attention to Mizzou until now so I could be off here.

UK fans get a little testy when talking about Mizzou. Be kind and understanding. They just went from the 11th best football team in the SEC to the 13th over the summer. A little understanding and compassion is in order.

Ignoring the fact that you can't compose a single sentence, I think it was chosen for the following combination of factors:
-Logical geographical footprint expansion for the SEC
-AAU/academic reputation
-Two sizable television markets, little in-state competition from other Universities
-Strong basketball program
-Growing football program
-Moderate athletic facilities
-30k+ students
-$1.2 billion endowment (fourth in SEC)
-More culturally similar than most other legitimate expansion options

I understand your excitement, but would everything-Mizzou be so excited if you were still in the BigXII? Big10? Pac12?

I'm sure the answer is no.

With that, understand that those in the SEC prior to your arrival, good or bad, have contributed in many ways to what it has become. Mizzou has contributed nothing, yet. So be excited that you're apart of the best sports conference and enjoy it. But take it down a notch. You are not arriving as football-strong as you think. Tell your players to shut up because the SEC season is more than just playing UGA (without 4 defensive starters. Two of which are all-americans) and requires depth on both sides of the ball.

Well considering its already the best conference we're not coming in trying to be the life of the party, its already a good party. If that makes sense.

Since the name of the game is gaining markets, Mizzou gets you that.

Mizzou is ranked in the top 25 in like 10 sports.

A solid football program (yeah yeah, not great)
A very good basketball program
Elite softball program
Solid baseball
Great soccer program
Elite wrestling (yeah SEC doesn't have it, but MU will represent SEC)

Above all its just a damn solid athletic school that does things the right way, it boosts the SEC education profile, it gains geographic area and markets, its disrupts the Big12 geography (Missouri was a link between the south and north).

But yeah, keep on thinking its just useless we are here, thanks for the welcome.

The only reason Mizzou was giving the honor of being part of the SEC was that is one part of the TV market the SEC wanted to crack. If we wanted to just add a solid program it would had been Clemson, FL state, VT, Georgia tech just to name a few

I'm going to skip the above.

Didn't the Mizzou brass actually want to get into the Big 10 or was that just rumor?
