If Ok State would've made it to the MNC, Alabama would have played in and most likely won the Sugar Bowl giving LSU 3 wins over BCS bowl winners.

Not to mention that those teams were Pac-12, Big 12, and Big East champs

And possibly Arky in the Cotton Bowl too.

This more than anything else is why I wanted Ok St more than Bama...to put an absolutely impossible resume together.

There's no denying it anymore. A win on Monday puts LSU right there with the greats of all time.

We will most certainly be the most accomplished college football team not only in the BCS era, but maybe of all time.

Just go ahead and say the most impressive feat ever by any program in college sports (Including Wooden's run at UCLA-JJ/Lee >>> Alcindor/Walton)

To be fair, West Virginia or the team they're playing Clemson has no business being in a BCS Bowl game.

What? That's one of the most idiotic things I've seen posted here. Even from a gump. And I don't exactly have high expectations from Alabama's fan base to begin with.

Any team that can score 49 points in the first half in the Orange Bowl, vs the champions of a BCS conference, deserves respect.

No one with a brain, which evidently excludes quite a few Tide fans, is anything but impressed with WVU's offense tonight.

LSU's victory at WVU looks even more impressive right now. To anyone with a brain, that is.

Makes you hate "I'm a man" Gundy more than I did before. Damn him for robbing MY team of more glory.

They need to redo this poster and add the "BCS Winner" in the appropriate spots:

Hmm, they have more reason to be in their bowl game than does Bama in the title game.

Won't matter come Monday though when Les raises crystal number 2.

So if Alabama beats LSU wouldn't that make us the greatest team in history since we beat the team that beat all of those teams?

But, if we apply gump logic to it, we can never really know who is best because they would need to play 10 times to decide that, and since that cannot happen, bama is awarded the honor by default.

It really is a flawless system

Let Bama win so you can say you beat 3 BCS winners.

Losing to Bama will hurt even worse and make a Bama win even more emphatic.

A conference that has scored exactly 2 points in the last eleven BCS games? You're a fricking moron.

on paper it's would be tough to argue against, but that 01' Miami' team was pretty ridiculous.
The names on their roster kind of play a big factor though, IMO.

eta: in 10 years when people are comparing resumes, I think most lean towards LSU.
obligatory if they get the win.

Gump logic says Bama is best based on the eyeball test. And if that fails, use defensive stats. But only defensive stats--offense and special teams dont matter.

The '01 Miami team was better from a talent perspective, but resume wise they almost to far inferior BC and VT teams. LSU didn't play a close game outside of the retards in Alabama this year

He was referring to the rule that states the champion of a BCS conference gets an automatic bid to a BCS game, therefore making both teams deserving of playing in a BCS game.

I'm glad I could help you understand this. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
